how does the wider world react to the sun coming back i'm curious (like people who just did not know shiho or moonglow at all)
somewhere out there a kid pointed at the moon and called it the sun because theyve never seen anything brighter in the sky
ok sorry im ready to answer now @tomatosoupandpasta
to be honest it was probably seen to be as just as bizarre as the sun disappearing in the first place. its kind of hard to describe how people reacted because theres just so many different reactions out there. there was yet another insurgence in religion and stuff and there were also people who panicked too (though there was a lot of celebration as well)
theres at least one other cult out there who sacrificed someone a little before the sun came back and they think theyre the ones who did it. theres no end to the number of people who are trying to take the credit. actually it would probably be very hard to prove that moonglow brought the sun back and you just have to trust that the people who were there to see it are telling the truth. in fact theres no real way to prove that sacrificing shiho did anything and maybe shizuku knew when the sun was coming back and decided to put herself at the center of it all by sacrificing some poor girl to make her the hero. obviously there’s no proof for that but there’s no proof against it either really
in general its a lot of chaos. people have adjusted to the frozen climate and are even relying on the cold (to preserve food, etc) so for the people who were unaware and unprepared (aka almost everyone) this would practically be a second apocalypse. or at least a disaster. fear panic and confusion part 2. though i do think it would probably take long enough for things to heat up again for people to prepare to live in a world with a sun again
for a long time people would mostly only go out at night because thats what theyre most used to. sunlight is far too bright for their eyes and the risk of sunburn is constantly present. theres a lot of sleep cycle adjustment trouble and stuff. ok wait im getting off topic this is just post-winter society in general hold on
after the sunrise ichika met a lot of people who had never heard of moonglow and all that stuff and that made her wonder exactly what youre asking and thats part of what makes her want to see the world. many people have made up their own reasons while it remains nonsensical and unexplained to others. theres a lot of reactions out there. make one up (one that could reasonably happen!!) and there’s pretty much no chance it can be wrong
