I don’t think it’s talked about enough collectively in the Rumbelle community that Belle’s afraid of being left behind. This is shown multiple times, especially when Rumple’s off in Neverland. We only get little hints at this insecurity, but she clearly thinks less of herself because she doesn’t have magic like Rumple does. Can we talk about this????

Okay so I wanted to add to the post instead of in the chat thread, but the base of my thoughts is we see Rumple unstable and anxious SO many times. We have numerous examples of it to the point where we all know his anxiety is a character trait because it’s just smth we associate with him. But Belle? No she’s brave and strong… and insecure. Behind it all. And I think it’s so interesting that it flips between them because behind Rumple’s anxiety and insecurities, HE is brave and strong. He just doesn’t see it, so we don’t see it. And Belle prides herself on being brave, so we don’t see her insecurities because, like Rumple hiding his bravery, Belle doesn’t put any focus on her insecurities. Their strengths and weaknesses are almost two sides of the same coin in this regard. I know we have such little scenes to show this about her but I think what we do have says so much about what she isn’t saying.
