2020 mood
the way being a swiftie has given me so many trust issues to the point where i don’t believe that woodvale is a graphic design mistake and that it’s just a way for taylor to get us to stop talking about it until she announces it
like in the same sentence talking about woodvale taylor said “I love to drop clues and hide easter eggs for my fans and sometimes take it too far” then “but woodvale was just a mistake :) that I left on the album cover :)” all she does is lie though I don’t TRUST IT
The poor intern who forgot to take the take woodvale off of the mock cover for folklore hearing people thinking Taylor is gonna release a third album
“my waves meet your shore ever and evermore” is the most romantic lyric because waves have high and low points and shorelines are constantly changing and re-establishing themselves, so she’s saying that they will both grow and change as people, but always will come together
Taylor in Folklore: the “other woman” isn’t evil, she just wants to be loved like everyone else.
Taylor in Evermore: let’s frame her for murder.
champagne problems resonates so deeply with me which is weird considering ive never actually fallen in love or had to deny a proposal
we need to talk about “the skeletons in both our closets plotted hard to fuck this up”
On all levels except physical, I'm living on the "goddamn" taylor sings in ivy
i know that i’m probably the 90th person to make this parallel but i cannot for the life of me stop thinking about “stood on the cliffside screaming ‘give me a reason’” vs “climbed right back up the cliff/long story short, i survived”
I don’t want to alarm anyone but there are still two tracks that we haven’t heard from evermore yet
it’s that time of year again… here’s a compilation of some of my favorite reactions to evermore (also tumblrs a dick and won’t let me upload the video here so that’s why it’s unlisted on youtube)
what am i supposed to do if there’s no you —> cause every scrap of you would be taken from me
don’t mind me, just going apeshit over here and the concept of there being a third album that taylor will release around april….*cracks knuckles* also a lot of this is probably NOT correct, but it sure is fun to go down this rabbit hole!
so we know evermore was released 20 weeks after folklore. what’s 20 weeks from now? april 30th. also, the clock in the cowboy like me lyric video is set to 4:30.
just thinking about how the word “vale” is an archaic word, was mostly used in the 1800s, and literally means……farewell. (it’s an exclamation) alternatively can be defined as a noun as “a written or spoken farewell”. (totally not thinking about the implications of ‘it’s time to go’ now)
the word wood has a literal meaning of course, but spiritually, wood allows a connection between people and ‘the Divine’. Wood when it refers to trees symbolize longevity, wisdom, and knowledge.
getting into the word evermore - also way popular in the 1800s, as an adverb it means always or forever, but this is chiefly used for rhetorical effect or in ecclesiastical contexts (that cool big word essentially just means relating to the christian church, so it has a religious context) - but get this, it also can mean ‘in the future’ (!!!!)
so, let’s say i’m not entirely crazy and woodvale does signify ts10. ts10 would be…a farewell….in the future. she’d presumably (and deservedly!) want to take a break from music for a while, settle down…
the fact that there’s a (dairy!) farm in pennsylvania called vale wood farms seems too good to just be crazy coincidence, especially since it was only a few hours from taylor’s childhood home
also not to continue adding fire to the above bullet, but vale wood farms is actually off a road called ‘dream’.
we know based on some of her merch (3 cardigans, 3 hair ties, 2 candles but we think there will be a third) that it does SEEM like she’s setting up the third album. you know what the number 3 means? “all”. it contains the beginning, middle, and an end. the latin phrase “omne trium perfectum” also means “everything that comes in threes is perfect, or, every set of three is complete”. the power of 3 is universal and also symbolizes heaven, earth, and waters. (my thoughts: folklore - waters or earth, evermore - heaven, woodvale - waters or earth, based on which one fits “more” once we’ve heard the album and can compare all 3). ALSO: 3 symbolizes the body, soul and spirit. not to mention 3 is one half of the most important number to taylor. also also: the number 3 means you’ve received “guidance and help from divine forces” and that “your angels are protecting you and giving you support and strength.” makes me think of marjorie.
one last part about the candles: why would she have ANOTHER candle for evermore if not to be using it as an easter egg? she doesn’t do that with her other merch/albums. so maybe the candles, and her lyric “i’m fine with my…candles” are some hint. or maybe they’re not. who knows!
there’s actually a district in pennsylvannia called the woodvale historic district. the photo on the wikipedia page is from 1989. i don’t know much more about this district other than it appears it covered a lot of coal-mining involved.
if we go back to england, there’s another woodvale. right next to the pin that google maps dropped me when i located it on is a place called willowbank holiday home & touring park. HELLO.
i don’t actually know if this means anything but i think it’s fun and i want to mention it anyway: in ireland, there’s a house on a small road. the address? 31 woodvale drive. it was recently renovated and redecorated, apparently in “showhouse condition”, available by appointment only. and this description just has me floored: “It is rarely a house comes to the market offering so many opportunities.“ IT ALSO HAS A CLOAKROOM. what the FUCK is a cloakroom. (definition: a room in a public building where coats and other belongings may be left temporarily.) it also has double glazed windows. i don’t think that means anything, but i wanted to mention it. how do you double glaze a window?
in conclusion (for now): i am crazy but i love it here down in this rabbit hole and dear god ts10 is coming
this hurts to read lmao this is most definitely not true but I LOVE the theory lmao
evermore by taylor swift (released december 11, 2020)
To try and put it more poetically, it feels like we were standing on the edge of the folklorian woods and had a choice: to turn and go back or to travel further into the forest of this music. We chose to wander deeper in.
