back as early as grade school i got made fun of for having ‘man hands’. and, in classic schoolyard style, those 9-year-olds were right.

#requiodit #veiny. my nailbeds are NOT nail-art shaped at all #and my knuckles too knobbly and handflesh too meaty to wear rings easily #1) i can’t take them off because my meat is too meaty lol #and 2) any ring or watch or bracelet i wear has to be Chungy and Wide because anything else looks stupidly dainty and ill-fitting #3) my nails themselves are very thin and it’s one of my genuine body horror fears that i’ll accidentally rip my nail off or break it badly #so i keep them cut as short as possible. sometimes i trim 2x a week #but 4) despite looking the way they do my hands are sweaty. and because they’re sweaty they’re moisturized.#which means sometimes when somebody actually touches my hand for the first time they gasp in surprise #somft and doughy. one time a hs classmate forgot the word ‘doughy’ and had this revelation whilst saying very loudly to the entire class #WOW YOU ARE SO YEASTY #me: oh my god sarah. PLEASE. NO???#the lighting isn’t too good in these photos. i am even veinier irl.
