Actually, according to my last post here, it’t been about 1 year and a half…
I want to explain a bit the causes of my absence here but I guess most of you won’t feel like read it, so you can skip the drama to the end of the post.
One week after my last post here I had to leave work and the city I was living in for a month due to an episode of anxiety and depression. I know a lot of people deal with this kind of things so you know what I’m talking about. The sick leave lasted 3 months and I actually had to take meds for like 8 months. It was my first episode and it caught me off guard so it hit me pretty hard.
The thing is that a lot of stuff that I used to like or love didn’t feel right anymore. Like, I tried to follow One Piece but I was so bad at that moment that I wasn’t enjoying it, so what was the point, right?
Long story short, months went by, my life was kind of organized, I got a dog ( ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ), I started the classes for my PhD… but everything went to shit on March.
Everyone have lost something due to the pandemic. People are losing money, jobs, opportunities, projects, health… or, if the worst comes to the worst, their lives. For me it was mental health.
I was in the group of people that had to work harder, I actually work at a hospital, so you can imagine de situation… The thing is that I live on a city where I don’t have many close people (my family lives like 600km apart) so I hadn’t seen no one but people at work for like 4 months and I broke again… it was a less severe episode and I think that I’m actually kind of getting better these last weeks.
I had to start going to therapy to cope with the anxiety again and it’s the best thing I could have done. I’m learning again how to be a functional adult, like literally how to sleep well, how to eat, how to do basic stuff… it’s kinda lame but I don’t even care…
So, the thing is that I’m resuming some of my old hobbies, including, of course, One Piece. I don’t know how often I will post, but I just finished catching up with the manga and I managed to remember my tumblr password at the second guess.
I’m really happy to see that I still have a good bunch of followers and I hope the community is still active around here.
