My sculpture is an example of Punk visually, a not-give-a-shit attitude about just piling up a load of garbage and proving it could look good too… I found TVs in the street… I would go into these light stores and shove lights into my pockets… occasionally I throw in radios… four or five radios playing different stations… People won’t get close to the sculpture… there are lots of broken wires, smashed bulbs, chains, broken glass, and other kinds of things that just threaten people.

Reflect on the feedback you received on your poster and what your plan is to develop assessment 2. Some general feedback to help you with planning:
Concepts are not simple equations. Simply saying “this represents contemporary desire” or “this represents how social media is bad for us” doesn’t mean anything. You need to test, experiment, and get involved in your concept. Art and Design doesn’t just represent, it is active in the world. Prove what you are saying by doing it, making it and if in doing it you don’t get a clear answer that is ok! That is a more interesting result than saying something definite without any support for you claims.
Just coping what others have done without any creative or conceptual considerations does not make for engaging work. That is safe and ultimately banal.
Often concepts are abstract, difficult, slippery, hard to describe. Concepts are not advertising slogans. It’s good to struggle with your concept. The struggle is the creative process. The struggle will produce interesting work.
Try to find what actually interests you, what inspires and drives you and allow that to fuel your research and project. Any approach is open to you, but if you just do what is easy, or what you think is expected, rather than what you believe in then you will not produce engaging work.
Next week is desire, so lets use that as an opportunity to find out what you believe in, what you desire and allow you to be more risky and invested in what you do.

In groups of 3-4 choose one artist/designer/media artist from the Desire PDF.
Research how this artist relates to Desire. How does this artist produce Desire through their work?
Create a wearable designed object that produces Desire.
But, you must do this using Alien Methods!
