Have something to look forward to every thurday for half a year. A week to build up excitement and theories between episodes (or to yk, be too busy to watch). Time to create art about it.

22 episodes a season was the standard for a majority of shows back in the late 90s-early 2000s. Buffy, Dawsons Creek, Angel, One Tree Hill, just about every teen show had an average of 20-23 episodes per season.

Seasons started Sep-October, ran up until. Christmas Break, came back in Jan-Feb. all new eps weekly (give or take 1-2 weeks of repeat episodes) and ran all new until summer season finale.

It was a time to be alive. Idk what this 8 episode shit is every 2-3 years. And now more shows are doing a total of 10, airing 5, then a break, & then airing the final 5 months later and then wait 2-3 years.
