uhh I use quite a bit of lip sliders (and sliders in general) but here’s a little list:

How to solve: Origin is not running. Please make sure Origin is running before attemtping to play The Sims 4. Error (D3382CED:984C6A38:00000000) windows 7

SO, I know this is a sims 3 blog but I also play Sims 4, not as avidly as I play Sims 3 but I like to enjoy something that loads and saves quick from time to time, and with over 1200 mods on my Sims 3 playing my favorite game isn’t always an option.

Today I decided to play the sims 4 to make a sim for a friend and I encountered myself with that message (Image taken from google, tho, but exactly the same message). I run a winwos 7 64 bits OS and I never had any problem running the sims 4. Whether Origin was running or not, but today I got this message, code (D3382CED:984C6A38:00000000).

It took me a while to figure it out and I realized it’s kind of a hassle to figure it out, reinstalling things won’t help, cleaning cache won’t help, running as administrator won’t help.

• How I solved it?

I had Origin running, I was logged in, I never had to log into Origin to play the Sims 4, so when this happened I didn’t know what to do.

I triedlogging out and back in, killing the process and launching the app again but nothing. I researched over the internet but there wasn’t a thing I could do.

Until I changed the compatibility properties for both Origin and the sims 4.

Now here’s the twist: If you are executing this game in Win 7 like me you gotta go to compatibility mode and set it for windows 7, yes, on windows 7. I know. Then check run as administrator.

Do this for both Origin and the sims 4, make sure to kill any process related to Origin and the game before changing the properties. Then launch the Sims 4. It should work now.

(I’m sorry, my OS is in spanish and you can’t really see much because the picture shrinks) but right click > Properties > Compatibility tab > Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows 7.

Then apply and accept, you should be able to play the game now.

I haven’t tried running origin first before playing because as I said I don’t need it, but my game worked fine like before.
