@restlessvoyage
I would like us all to become one.
You don't have to force yourself to bounce back so quickly. I read something recently that said "when you come in from a rainstorm, you don't expect yourself to be dry and warm right away", and it really resonated with me. It's okay to take time to dry off and warm up. Take the time you need to process what happened to you.
"it's just stress" oh thank god, it's just the silent killer that slowly kills you, perfectly harmless, no need to worry

I was miserably hot taking these pictures but the day was perfect under the shade of oaks and box elders
“God will not rush your healing. And God will not rush your growth. God is okay with where you are right now. He’s not tapping His toe impatiently. He’s not looking at His watch with a sigh. He’s not trying to get you out the door a few minutes sooner. The God who loves you is willing to give you the time you need. All of time belongs to Him and He is generous with it. He gives it freely to fluffy birds and budding trees and chubby squirrels. And He’ll give it to your heart–as much as you need.”
— Holley Gerth
“When that pernicious wound pops up yet again in your heart, pay attention: God wants to heal you on an even deeper level than last time. We sometimes think that one encounter with God’s love will heal us completely. But our wounds run deeper than we know, and God is patient.”
— Audrey Assad (via nblomblr)
Sometimes God allows things in your life that you don't understand at first. You think you're being broken, but instead you're being made new. Slowly. Maybe painfully. But the pain is not the point. His Grace is. So why is it so hard for us to let Him hold us? I want my powerlessness to be freeing, not scary. To surrender, not to grasp for control. After all, what is holier? What gets us closer to God? May I always remember I don't need to be 'fixed'. Because I can always allow myself to just be and be loved 🤍
“Love is not concerned with qualities. They are not the object of our love. We love the deepest, most substantial and hidden, the most existing reality of the beloved being.”
— Jacques Maritain
