thinking back to Kenyatta's dialogue about Auni after having played Palia last night where Kenyatta mentions to the player character how Auni sneaks her true crime newsletters

it reminded me of a hc i've always had about their dynamic being smth like a kid (Auni) looking up to his role model (Kenyatta)

Auni probably sees Kenyatta as the coolest person he's ever met with the way she comes across as this nonchalant, confident, rebel girl who gets away with a lot of things — literally refreshing to see compared to the more disciplined Majiri he's known throughout his life

meanwhile Kenyatta probably saw Auni as her boyfriend's annoying little brother at first until she spends more time with Auni and sees that he's just a kid wanting to find his own voice in an environment that doesn't always take him and his interests seriously

both would bond over the fact that they have these pressures placed on them by their families, and whether she knows it or not Kenyatta eventually becomes Auni's safe person to talk to without feeling babied or invalidated in his feelings bc she gets it too
