I'm so sorry you got hate for the Brightheart design.
People can have their own opinions but saying "we need to kill bitches" in relation to a damn character design is insane (saying it on a discord server and then posting what they said publicly with your comment on the post so there's no doubt who it was about)
Talking about erasing representation is a good conversation to have, but don't say shit like that about individual artists who don't mean any harm, you know? CLEARLY it wasn't because you wanted to cover up Brightheart's scars as far as I can tell. Like. Obviously it was because you had a fun idea and wanted to share it, then someone just had to come over and shit all over it because "uhm actually Brightheart did have the scars in the books, soooo"
They mentioned how they were attacked by dogs in the past and had scars and they were mad about you not showing Brightheart's scars because of that, so it reads to me like they majorly overreacted due to high emotions caused by thinking of their trauma, which is fine on its own, but dragging it to their many followers and telling them it's okay to berate people for this is way too far. I won't deny that I say "we should kill ___" jokingly to a group of friends sometimes, but it's different when the person you're talking about can easily come across your post and see that you said that, and then see all the people in the comments agreeing.
And I know they'd be like "well I didn't actually mean kill" but you still shouldn't say that when the person you're talking about could see it! Does mental health mean nothing to you??
Someone had a neat idea for a character design. That's it. If you're upset because you think people don't consider the importance of seeing her scars, talk about that. But honestly if you're so upset about some random stranger's design for a fictional feline character to the point that you go on at least two rants about it, maybe you should go outside.
With all that out of the way, let me say this: you're art is absolutely amazing! I thought the Brightheart design was such a cool idea! Keep up the good work, I can't wait to see what you come up with next!
