Had coffee with my family after dinner and when we were done, I decided not to ride home to take a quick stroll around Binondo. In the past 10 months that I've been back living with my mom downtown, I've never truly felt connected to the place where I grew up. Maybe because when I left home 3 years ago, I hated every bit about Binondo. The traffic, the pollution, the people. But I am glad that tonight, I took this stroll. Passing in familiar streets and alleys brought back a lot of memories from when I was a child until I got my first job and several ones after that. I was reminded that this is the place that taught me my street-smarts. No guilt on whining about the bad stuff, but the good deserves a shout-out too! I'm glad that tonight, I took time to reconnect with the town that raised me. And I will figure out a way to contribute on how to make my home town more beautiful, day and night. 💮 (at Binondo Manila Phillipines)
