Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment

Review:

Born in the School, a lab that makes human-animal hybrids, the Flock consists of the leader Max (short for Maximum, not Maxine), the broody human shadow Fang, the blind but still sneaky Iggy, talkative Nudge, the noxious Gasman (or Gazzy, for short), and cute little Angel. After escaping the School when Angel was still a wee baby, the Flock lived in safety for years until the School hunts them down at last, kidnapping Angel and taking her back to the School. Following that is an exciting journey for the Flock trying to find and save their youngest member, lots of danger barring the way, but the Flock is strong together, and they power through it all. Definitely a must-read for anyone who likes action and adventure, with a dash of romance and a whole lot of spunky attitude.

Maximum Ride: The Series

In honor of the new Maximum Ride book that was recently released, I’ve decided to do the whole series, leading up to the new book (which I obviously already bought and read).

Eragon

Review:

       What can I say about this book? Well, a lot, actually, but in a sentance, this book is one of my most absolute favorites. It was the book that got me interested in fantasy stories as a whole. It follows a fifteen year old boy named Eragon who discovers a beautiful blue stone that turns out to be a dragon egg that hatches for him! Naming the dragon Saphira, Eragon embarks on a long journey to discover the rest of the Empire where he lives, battling monsters and learning magic, accompanied by Brom, an old storyteller with a very mysterious past. There isn’t much I can tell you beyond that without spoiling some of the juicy surprises, so give this book a read! It’s the first part of a four-book series, so don’t forget to check out the rest of the books!

Review:

               Just…no. I’m sorry to and for all of you that love this book, but I just cannot stomach it. I have researched BDSM and have read other authors’ work on BDSM relationships and I can tell you will absolute certainty, this is not BDSM. Yes, as in every relationship, there is compromise; however, he completely breaks most of his rules! And, God knows, Ana is not exactly the sharpest whip in the playroom (horrible pun, but still). The writing style was all over the place and the character personalities were almost nonexistent. I found it hard to stomach more than half of the book, but I did. I finished it and, to my dismay, there is another one…and another one. But! Where there are more books, there is more room to improve. And for my sanity’s sake, I hope they do improve.
