REBLOGGING FOREVER ā¤
#bensolodeservesbetter #bringbackbensolo
If I donāt reblog this assume Iām dead
Here I am again!
Reblogging twice in one day becauseāš
After I die, I wish someone will find my acc and hit that reblog button again, so even after death I will be reblogging this masterpiece
@demichrising Do what I did and schedule this to reblog in one year. Because Reylo will STILL BE IN MY HEART in 2021, just like it was in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020! Maybe something new will have developed in the year that will pass!

rian johnson basically confirmed that kylo/ben wanted to kiss rey in the elevator scene, itās cannon. not to mention, johnson told us that adam driver, as kylo/ben, seriously consider kissing rey (daisy ridley) in this scene.
he is, indeed, staring at her lips in the elevator scene (as she is staring at his).
we almost got this kiss here.
: )
I love love love love love LOVE that Rey kills Ben in the fight in the rain and do not think it is even remotely out of character. for one, I love it because I love the symbolism of herĀ killing Kylo so that Ben can live but mostly I love it because it was the only thing that was ever going to break THROUGH her defenses, fair and unfair, that sheād built around her heart with regard to him. There was nothing he could ever do to make her take those downāand in a sense she is absolutely RIGHT to be so guarded because this is a guy who will not stop trying to Get her to be his LITERAL PARTNER IN CRIME AND DARKNESS and whose frequent marriage proposals involve things like sitting together on the throne of the Sithābut this was pretty much the one thing SHE could do that would force her to re-evaluate her approach and force her to put down the weapon, all her weapons, and tell the truth.Ā
And I love it because it comes out of such a genuine flaw of Reyās, maybe even her main flaw, that she chooses violence over communication and lets the impulse and heat of violence carry her where it will as opposed to thinking and acting more deliberately. It MAKES SENSE because violence is her fallback and has always been the only thing she had because of how she was (not) raised and how she always had to fend for herself. It makes sense that it is the only way she knows how to keep herself from falling into Ben, from being utterly pulled into the connection that they have, the love they have, which she feels she canāt fall into without losing herself in the process and in the darkness. (And which sheās right about because he still hasnāt abandoned the darkness. He wants her, badly. But heās never made it clear that he will choose her over the darkness and keeps trying to have both together.)Ā
And I love too that itās such a messy and ugly mistake, that itās kind of a cheap shot and then that Rey, perfect Hero Rey, HAS to confront on all levels what she just did: attack Leiaās son and, this is that much harder, murder her soulmate and not in perfect self-defense but in, arguably, a moment in a fight when he wasnāt looking or focusing. In an unfair moment of violence.Ā And obviously I love it because the scene doesnāt end thereābecause she literally brings him back to life and then admits her Gigantic Crush on Ben Solo. She undoes her violence and extends gentleness but then, going beyond her Perfect Hero Resistance self, doing more, so much more, than sheer compassion or goodness and demands says the thing she could never say but what has always been her truth. She admits her want and in doing so rids herself of the need for all her defenses because her want, clearly stated, is already enough of a defense.Ā
It untangles for him her feelings that heās been guessing about and sensing and wrestling with for so long in a kind of torment. Heās always known that there is something there, that she feels it too, but then she keeps locking him out, pushing him away, shutting the door. And he tries to overCOME it on his own, tries to offer her the solution to this problem but of course it never worked because he never saw the problem clearly at all. He always wanted to believe the problem wasnāt him but somehow something she was doing or choosing, her friends or his family or the light side, because admitting he is the problem would mean she didnāt want him. And he, HE, on his own isnāt the problem! Itās what he kept choosing to do and to pursue.Ā Rey sayingĀ āI wanted to take your handā directly after killing him and then SAVING HIM untangles her feelings of want from her feelings of well-founded fear. She makes him see how clearly HE IS wanted and how much about him has made that impossible because he keeps trying to be someone he is not, because he keeps trying to destroy himself in slavish darkness. She takes the sting out of all it. And leaves him with the burden of love which isnāt really a burden at all because itās only knowing that he is absolutely loved and loved as he IS that allows him to rise to a new way of being and embracing it. He was so afraid of being unwanted and she says āyouāre not unwanted, youāre wanted so badly, youāre the one cutting yourself off from love and light by choosing the darkness and i wonāt do that not just because I love and respect myself but BECAUSE I love you. Because this is what love does. It doesnāt destroy or tend towards destruction. It saves. and I just saved you but you have to let yourself- the you I love not this mask and persona- BE SAVED.ā And Itāsā wow. IĀ think thereās so much in the movie thatās fairly muddled and needs meta and a spring of imagination to make satisfying sense but this moment isnāt one of them. I think itāsĀ so perfectly, perfectly calibrated and exactly what they both needed the most.
One of the few good scenes to come out of this shit show... couldnāt agree more.
Unpopular opinion: The 9th Star Wars movie didn't need a villain. There was already an existing conflict that was tearing families apart and claiming lives on a daily basis. The war between the Resistance and the First Order was becoming brutal and tiring for both sides and Ben and Rey could have worked together to end it.

After TROS, Iām not sure Iāll ever be interested in any new Star Wars projects that donāt involve the Skywalker saga or Ben Solo. How about you? Itās hard to trust DLF. Celebration will be very interesting this year tho. I donāt know whatās gonna happen but Iām not sure that its gonna go smoothly since the fandom is upset with TROS. But imagine IF thereās any hint of Ben Solo coming back or any project related to Ben Solo is announced, people will go nuts!
Ugh... consuming SW content in a post TROS world is... not easy and I hate it.
Itās.... frustrating because I already got into The Mandalorian before being burned by TROS and I was looking forward to season 2. So, I know I CAN be interested in projects outside of the Skywalker saga (unfortunately? Fortunately??). Currently I plan on cancelling my Disney+ subscription once my year is up out of spite (I should have done month to month but I WAS NOT expecting to be hit by this pain train of betrayal.) Maybe Iāll watch Mando season 2 at a friendās place IDK.
I also (confession?) am still reading TROKR comics because (so far) they are EXACTLY what I wanted/was hoping for except now that they fucked up the hopeful and healing story that TROS should have been.... theyāre... man theyāre fucking brutal to read if you canāt successfully pretend they didnāt unceremoniously kill Ben (Iām really curious about the authorās reaction to TROS because he said he didnāt know the ending of the film while writing the comics and... āowā).
Iām fully accepting the comics (so far) into MY canon while vigorously rejecting basically all of TROS (coping is fun š.)
TROS was.... a perfect shitstorm (that should NEVER have been allowed to happen) helmed by two people who werenāt the correct type of storytellers (Iām being very kind here) to handle the completion of the Skywalker myth and (it sounds like) the production was haphazardly moved along for reasons (???) when the higher ups should have treated this project with the reverence it deserved and pushed back its release. I will NEVER AGAIN trust DLF to have any storytelling integrity and I donāt think Iāll ever be able to forgive them for trashing the heart of the Star Wars universe (I seriously hope they hurt for this and realize how badly they fucked up).
All that being said, Iām HUGELY conflicted because I DO NOT want to support the āmachineā that allowed the Skywalker saga to be butchered (and sent some really terrible messages along the way) BUT I also recognize that DLF has employed SOME great storytellers who truly understand what SW stands for and have turned out some amazing, meaningful, content (Rian chief among them). Real talk: if Rianās trilogy happens, Iām going to watch it. Period. I WILL support quality content.
At this point I actually think Iād be more accepting of new stories NOT tied to the Skywalker saga at all, UNLESS itās about trying to reframe or rectify what happened to Ben in TROS.
For example, I was honestly hype about the Kenobi series, and I LOVE Ewan, but I frankly donāt want to watch a show about a character who is that closely tied to the Skywalker tragedy. Like... I would rather fall down a flight of stairs than watch the adventures Obi Wan has on Tatooine while āwatching overā Luke knowing full well how pointless and bleak it ends up being. Tatooine is now the place where Rey āPalpatineā metaphorically buries āthe twinsā after the last Skywalker dies young and she is then āadoptedā by them. I never want to see Tatooine again, thanks.
I AM curious about what they might announce at celebration, but it will take A LOT for me to be interested in any content moving forward to the point that Iām willing to give them money again. As stated above, Rian is a āshut up and take my moneyā trump card, Iāll shamefully consume any āBen is actually aliveā content for peace of mind, and yes Iām currently finishing out the last few issues of my sad boy comics, but otherwise... Iām just going to hang back and see what happens with zero expectations and LOTS of spite.
Before ST I was a GA more than a casual fan even. The only point of interest I EVER had in OT was Luke and Vader's relationship, because it was HUMAN. PT got me to reconsider that this whole overarching story was actually Anakin's and I was okay with that. Anakin and Padme felt like watching a trainwreck in progress and I still feel like maybe SOME miracle would make okay in the end. That miracle did happen, eventually, it was Luke. I came to watch TFA with a friend as a casual +1 for the promise of pizza afterwards. I came out, clutching Ben Solo to my chest and sure I just saw Act 1 of Pride and Prejudice in space. I thought the premise that the old legendary heros fell prey to their own traumas and fears, so an old Shadow came back, to be realistic and poignant. I rooted for HOPE for them all, for redemption through their son, for the FUTURE. Now there is none. I am very much not there for SW universe NOT concerning the Skywalker clan (and people, affiliated with them). I don't really care for the Force lore. I don't care about the Sith and Jedi of prior millennia. The fall of the House Skywalker rendered all that pointless. Ok, so Rey is the new Jedi and there gonna be more Jedi. Big deal! Luke too established a new Jedi order. It crumbled, because he had unresolved conflicts. Personal conflicts. What are Rey's personal conflicts in the end? Why should I care for the history of that galaxy, if it leads to THIS? Unless DLF gives me solid hope for the Skywalker family (not their name, damnit! It's not Captain America!), I don't care what they have to say and comment story-wise on the Skywalker myth.
ROKR comic confirmed that Ben named his spaceship "Grimtaash." The Grimtaash was a mythical beast from Alderaanian mythology that protected the royal family from "corruption and betrayal." Dark Space Prince was also such a huge Space Nerd that he named his ship after a fantasy creature from his mom's destroyed home planet. He wanted to honor their Alderaanian heritage, and hopefully, have a living symbol to protect him from all the voices in his head. Now, I'm going to cry...*tears*
Oh, God....WHY DID YOU HAVE TO GIVE ME THESE FEELINGS WHAT DID I EVER DO TO YOUĀ

Ok but Rey is also love stupid around Ben
Rey is very kind and patient and compassionate but sheās also a feral sand goblin with a very strong possessive streak, and if she catches you staring at her big tiddied goth boyfriend for too long, heads will roll.
She goes into the cantina one day and notices a sign up sheet for volunteers to help clear out some storage space on a nearby base. Benās name is at the top, followed by dozens of female Resistance members. She grabs a pen.
Ben Solo
His penmanship is a thing of beauty. Rey crosses it out and scribbles her own, very valid modification.
