...modern era bishop of digne hcs:
-he runs a food can drive at the church as well as a soup night for any members of the community
-on wednesday nights, he, baptistine, and magloire go to a bingo hall and he has some crazy luck because this dude TEARS IT UP at bingo
-he's surprisingly very accepting of things which also causes drama in the community, but his policy is that everybody deserves compassion and mercy bc it isn't our place to cast heavenly judgement on others
-myriel also has very nimble fingers which allows him to be particularly good at embroidery. he and baptistine will both embroider and sit out in the church garden on sunny days and talk about this and that. his favourite things to embroider are flowers and cats
-a bunch of stray cats will visit the church and he always provides them with water and food. next to the food can drive sits a stray cat food drive so he can help out the poor kitties. some of them stick around so often that they're more his cats rather than strays. so far, there are three that exclusively live in the church: benedict (who lives in the choir loft), rosalia (who pitter patters around the entire abbey), and simon (who primarily lazes around the coat closet) and they are all named after saints
-he speaks french, italian, and latin fluently. he's currently looking around for LSF translator to hire for church services so the deaf community could attend mass without being left out
-baptistine and magloire get married which inspires him to do a support charity during june for pride month as well as having resource pamphlets for church members who struggle with accepting their family for who they are (in short: get it together.)
-he has absolutely eaten unconsecrated eucharist before as a snack. in his defense- at that state they r literally just some funky ass little crackers
-he also runs a youth group type thing for the kids in his community and when the teens teach him something about pop culture, like a new dance or something, he'll do it goofily on purpose to make them explode in laughter
-he likes abba. a lot. that's what he prefers to listen to when he's working on new homilies or when he's cleaning up around the church
-this dude has such an old phone. like an ancient artifact. okay lol it's just a flip phone, but all the kids in the youth group will be like "LMAOOOOOO WHAT IS THAAAT" but he doesn't mind. he has no real reason to own an updated phone, so he'll keep his little flippy one, thank you very much
