Doing our best?

There's some balance between treating others with grace and holding people accountable. If we recognize that 1) people make mistakes 2) the world does not always operate exactly as planned then what allowance can we give others, give ourselves, for not meeting certain expectations? A bus is later than you anticipate. Do you assume the driver has done their best and simply breathe and not worry about being late? Do you tweet angrily at the company to figure their shit out and get better/more/different/fill in the blank drivers? Do you yell at the driver because you KNOW he could have done better? I choose the first option. Now let's think of another similar scenario where maybe the individual in front of you is doing their best, but it's not cutting it. What do you do? It is a constant game with competition between treating people decently and well, getting what you believe you're entitled to, understanding life isn't a perfect formula, and striving for betterness. Is this a world where perfection is simply the unspoken standard that must be met, and any amount of human error is now failure?
