Well, at least the rudeness didn’t last too long to a degree at least but the topic of this conversation pretty much stayed the same. It was obvious that the Ravenclaw didn’t want to travel the same path with him in such a close vicinity —- which he didn’t mind if he had to go another way to the Ravenclaw tower since it would be far away from the girl’s unnecessary attitude.
For soon, some more words were said. Words that annoyed him a bit, the questions that sound like it’s meant to be helpful but honestly feels like an insult of some sort — which Adam didn’t appreciate too much. With arms folded, his demeanor soon changed a bit, getting from defensive to an assertiveness — an eyebrow raised up, brilliant blue orbs narrowing into slits and different tone within his voice from what he had at the initial point of this conversation.
"Of course, I did. Don’t you think I know my own girlfriend’s favorite spots of the castle? She’s not in the library, not at the Great Hall, not in the courtyard — "
A scoff escaped out of him, like a beast snorting and disregarding the object before it.
"— I was wanting to check up in her dorm to see if she was there or not since that’s the only place within the castle walls I know she would be. Yet, clearly since it’s obvious I shouldn’t cross paths with you — I’ll go check out her favorite places that are outside then before I decide to set foot in the Tower as the final then. Alright? "
Girlfriend. Oh! So Bookworm Belle was romantically entangled now, was she. It went to show how much Coraline cared for her fellows. Here she was, thinking no one who pursued that brainiac would ever pin her. She really was a funny girl, that Belle.
But Coraline thought herself funnier. Appearing unimpressed to the very fine creases in her face, she raised her eyebrows at the boy and shrugged, before curtsying deeply. "How chivalrous of you, sir," she snarked, "to allow me to indulge in the company of my own thoughts. We thought we'd never be alone." There were many routes to Ravenclaw Tower, if you were clever enough to know them, but each of them was quite a hike in its own right. Adam would be trekking about the castle for ages. Coraline wasn't about to split the difference.
So she rose from her discourteous posture, rearranged her bag on her shoulder, and made towards her common room. "Seriously, I don't care. Not so long as it's not me you're stalking, and I don't have to think about pulling my wand on you. Never ends well," added Coraline. "Good luck with your manhunt -- and on that riddle, too. I hear the knocker thought up a whole new set of 'em today."
