Ravenclaws have a habit of staring into the middle distance, people always think they’re concentrating on something, but they’re usually just zoning out.

Ravenclaw Headcanon

A lot of Ravenclaws will seek out liminal spaces, and there are a lot of them at Hogwarts. The whole castle at night, the corner of the library where the quietness feels oppressive, the corridor with the portraits that refuse to talk and is never in the same place, sections of the school where there are classrooms that are never used, and a lot more that people have yet to find. These Ravenclaws find they get their best work done in these eerie feeling places.

Children display house traits from a young age. I witness this a lot in the library:

Young Gryffindor: Runs in the library, lobs Lucy the library bear over the shelves. Draws hundreds of pictures at light speed for the sticker rewards. Takes out dinosaur/robot/monster picture books.

Young slytherin: Instructs the other children with colouring/games - rolls eyes when they don’t understand. Boasts to librarian about achievements at school that week. Takes sweets from desk when librarian not looking. Borrows non-fiction.

Young Hufflepuff: Sings the loudest during Rhyme Time... out of tune. Chatters loudly. Reads magical stories and fairytales. Takes out the same five favourite books. Racks up fines because they leave said books under their pillow.

Young Ravenclaw: Comes in dressed as favourite character (that week). Trips over their growing pile of books. Borrows EVERYTHING, reads beyond their age. Attempts to trick the librarian into letting them borrow inappropriate books.

Librarian: not on your nelly, Rave. You may not have that gory murder book on psycho-killers. You’re six... Gryff, please be gentle with Lucy, she my not survive another spin in the washing machine. Slyth, if you eat one more sweet I’ll take your picture down from the wall of fame. Huff... SHhhh.
