the thing about riverdale is there’s no endgame because riverdale is always iterating. it’s a high school drama ouroboros it tells the same story and different stories about the same people over and over and over again smashing them up into different pairs and situations to keep going and going and going. so you say well then isn’t it crazy that jughead and archie never kissed and the answer is actually no. because jughead’s the one writing the stories and he’s too afraid to be in love with his best friend so instead he deified him.

I understand not liking The Coffin of Andy and Leyley, or not wanting to engage with its themes and ideas. I don’t think it should be censored, nor should its creator be doxxed and harassed, but obviously the content of the game is disturbing and that isn’t for everyone.

What I am confused by is “liking” the game, but objecting to the existence of the left-door path in Burial (to be disturbed by it is another thing — you should be disturbed). To stick your head in the sand and obtusely romanticize Andrew and Ashley’s sibling dynamic throughout the first two chapters while ignoring the patent themes of inappropriate sexuality and co-dependency only to become upset when those themes develop and present themselves is IMO demonstrative of a poor and inappropriate approach to these kinds of disturbing topics. You can’t approach the art where it is if you refuse to accept it portrays problematic topics.

Both the article and the tweet are disingenuous. Jenna Ortega never praised Hamas, but she also didn't say "Palestinians deserve to live" either.

Her exact tweet was "decolonize Palestine" which holds very different connotations. Implying that Palestine has been colonized in turn suggests that Israel is a colony and not a sovereign nation state.
