I'm sick and tired of funnybunny being spread around like it's cannon just because Abstragedy is heavily implied to be cannon. Abstragedy works because the characters have developed TOGETHER. Gangle and Zooble have developed as characters with each other, they've been vulnerable with each other, they've confided in one another. Both characters also have pretty decent development apart from each other as well.
Jax and Pomni do not have hardly any development together, and both characters barely have any development apart too. Pomni is just less anxious now than she was in the pilot. Jax is pretty much a static character, and I'm not mad about that. Static character CAN exist in media and be enjoyable when done correctly. I believe Jax WAS written decently from what we've seen so far. It's not that Jax is developing as the show goes on, it more seems like we're seeing more into his character rather than him changing, because it's clear that he's not going to change.
In MY eyes, Pomni is an example of a static character written poorly. I love TADC, don't get me wrong, but Pomni seems to only be used for other characters to have their stories told. Yes I understand Pomni is the main character but no actually good piece of media has a main character who is ONLY used for other characters development.
May I be biased against funnybunny because I do not like Pomni and I ship my oc with Jax? Maybe. But even back when I LIKED Pomni and back before I began shipping my oc with Jax I didn't like funnybunny. It just doesn't work. Jax's "oh yeah that's what everyone wants: a straight couple" was not him admitting his feelings for Pomni or whatever. Jax taking a picture with Pomni in episode 6 was not him admitting his feelings for her. From episode 7 we can see Jax takes pictures with people he WAS friends with. Maybe when he took the picture with Pomni he believed they'd be somewhat friends, but then she started to get close and he pushed her away and threw the picture out. It's clear he cares about the others to some degree but it's PAINFULLY clear that so far the only pictures we see him have are with Kaufmo and Ribbit, two of his FRIENDS.
In episode 5, Jax is talking to Pomni during the stargazing adventure most likely because she reminds him of Ribbit and the stargazing adventure most likely seems to be one of Ribbit's suggestions(don't quote me on that). If It wasn't Ribbit's then it very clearly was Jax's suggestion. In episode 7 we can see in his mirror that he has glowing stars on the ceiling of his bedroom. It's highly likely the calming environment he seemed a little friniliar with made him feel like he could talk a bit.
Again, these are JUST opinions. Do NOT attack or harass me over my opinions. I do not care if you ship funnybunny. Do whatever you want to do. I am simply asking if we can stop acting like it is cannon to THE SHOW.
