The Princess and the Pea called Corona Virus Anxiety

Growing up, I thought this story was pretty silly given that I usually had no trouble falling asleep anytime anywhere. As an adult, I have found that this “pea” has become all of my stress and anxiety. It really does keep me up at night sometimes. It is not visible, but I am really sensitive to it! 

In the current global climate, that pea has become covid-19 anxiety. To be honest, my day to day has not changed that much. As a freelancer, I usually work from home anyway. That being said, my sleep schedule has been all over the place due to some corona virus related anxiety 😫 Good sleep=better immunity! Now more than ever we need to take care of ourselves and each other.

Here are some tips and reminders to get some better sleep:

1. Stop streaming so much at night. Set a curfew for all screens. (I am probably most guilty of this one)

2. Get natural light during the day while also practicing physical social distancing.

3. Limit news intake. Be informed, but do not look at news right before bed.

4. Keep bed time and wake up times consistent.

5. Work out! Being physically active during the day can make it easier to fall asleep at night.

Yowza! It’s been a looooong time since I have been here. Please forgive the absence. 2019 was a slightly hectic year. I started working with an awesome illustration agency, Bright! And it has been a wonderful experience. 

My only regret from 2019 was that I did not finish much personal art. I’m hoping that my return to Tumblr will motivate me to develop some discipline and learn to manage my time better. One of my new year’s resolutions for 2020 is to make time to work on more personal projects.

One of my 2018 resolutions is to post more often and regularly to this art blog. I’ve never done a great job of keeping this up to date :/ but it’s a new era. I’m determined to update this blog more frequently!

To start things off, I’m revisiting a series I started last year. Freaks and Geeks-One of my all-time favorite TV shows! Over the last couple of weeks, I’ve been playing around with a lot of different styles. I think I really like the direction these pieces are going and I am super excited to continue the series (as well as redo some of the old ones).
