I have been working on this ever since this scene happened early on. The way Aabria described coming out of the wolf form was so sick i immediately knew i had to put pen to “paper”. I hope I did her the justice she deserves 🥺

Something I think about a lot is the hundreds of ttrpg horror stories, and how the despicable people who those stories are about are still allowed to consume and have opinions on actual plays. It’s why I take many bad faith opinions with a grain of salt because some people are really throwing boulders from a glass house.
I think that if everyone loves and thinks every character is good from the first few episodes of an actual play with 13 PCs, then the players are doing something wrong. We’ve lost the art of a character arc because people want fully fleshed out, unflawed and matured characters whose only complexity comes from a tragic backstory
“Do you want me to destroy you?”
OH EDDIE AND KATIE, YOU MAKE ME SICKKKKKK
Azune looking in the mirror after some private Orc-face:
The first piece of D&D I ever watched was EXU calamity with no context for anything CR expect a good autocomplete challenge. But I loved it and it opened up a rabbit hole of actual play additction. But I recently rewatched with all of my exandria lore knowledge and it’s funny how many things I didn’t get:
1. I thought that Zerxus thought that the Lord of the Hells used to be Evandrin. Let me explain. Xerxis ask LoH ‘do you know what u were before this?’ I thought he was implying that his husband turned into this demon thing and that’s what Laerynn accidentally did.
2. I didn’t know Asmodeus was a God I thought it was just a really bad dude.
3. I thought the Matron was Patia’s mom. When the group found out that it was the Matron that taught Patia how do a spell preascention. Marisha said ‘I learnt it from you mom’, I thought this meant Patia’s mother was a Godess
4. anything with the primordials,
5. what the heck a vasselheim was and why LoH wanted to go there so bad,
6. who the heck LoH siblings were,
7. why we cared about Vespin so much,
8. what a vestige was,
9. what the word magister meant and many other words that came before.
Calamity was a banger before context and A MASTERPIECE with it.
Rewatching Burrow’s end to feel something again because med school exams are turning me into a zombie. And I saw this bit that made me grin because a memory deep in the back of my mind triggered. It’s as they say all GMs learn from one another.
❝intertwined, sewn together.❞
Brennan always talks about how Aabria is the biggest assist a GM can have. And I have NEVER seen it more clear than in this moment in ep 5 of C4. MVP behaviour. Picked up the cue immediately and effortlessly slotted in a reminder for Alex.
Watching the adventuring party at its Ally and Brennan reveals that he is the seventh grandchild in his family.
The seventh will know to ring the bell.
Maxwell is Brennan’s insert in Cloudward Ho!
Congrats to Mrs Roland and Mr Mulligan on the second child. Let’s see if it’s a theme that each child gets a season in the dome before they are born.
No because Thaisha and Hal are so wedding song and Orpheus and Eurydice coded. I’VE BEEN THINKING ABOUT IT ALL WEEK. Not in the whole turning around bit but in the first part of the musical. The way they fall in love. And I KNOWWWW they aren’t getting back together but their type of love is so special to me and I’ve never seen it in an actual play. Oh if one of them goes before they see each other it will destroy me:
‘Hal (Orpheus) was a poor boy,
But he had a gift to give.
He could make you see how the world could be:
In spite of the way that it is
And Thaisha (Eurydice) was a young girl,
But she'd seen how the world was.
When she fell, she fell in spite of herself,
In love with Hal (Orpheus)’
Guys are we all just pretending that Wealwell isn’t about the become evil in the last few episode or…
1. He has spoken about expanding the Gotch name multiple times and it’s been brushed off
2. He’s shown he is willing to kill his brother as a bit that I feel like is not actually a bit
3. Pappy is already onto him and Brennan probably for the lols will give into making Wealwell evil for Zac
4. He’s shown moments of extreme consciousness and I mean by this at random points he gets super serious and shows he’s really competent
5. He is surprisingly skilful in standing and that begs the question what else
6. He disappears or doesn’t speak for a long time and it’s ignored
And number 7 and arguably the most important he’s wearing fancy striped pants.
WAKE UP PEOPLE, WE’VE PLAYED THESE GAMES BEFORE
Ugh I guess I have to apologise to Weawell and all of the stans that came with him. Until Marya’s Nat 20 insight I didn’t really understand him but after I’ve come to the conclusion that he is just so…solid.
Clock Aabria and Travis. The reaction corner lives and they unlocked telepathy.
I hereby christen this campaign with a Hamilton edit:
Aabria Iyengar at character creation:
Watching C4 right now, and Aabria has triggered one of my ptsd responses by reminding me of my greatest heartbreak:
