More thoughts about “Your Shifter Classmate Tells You His Secret” because I decided to relisten today.
The concept of the reason Theos parents are pushing so hard for him to turn being a form of keeping him safe in a way they couldn’t with his mother…ow.
And the “maybe now we’re seeing why I don’t have a lot of close friends” from him, like at least some of it has to stem from not wanting to lose those possible friendships if he does turn, while even more of it stems from him not wanting to put anyone else in a position where they could get hurt by his connection to the house.
Just to warn everyone, I will be relating Cutie and Geordi to the entirety of ‘you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love’ regardless of how well it fits
I'm getting fucking irritated by all of the cutie slander from back then and even now
I'm not excusing their behaviour, by all means a can't listen to geordi's playlist without cringing and screaming at them internally
But I do understand why cutie did what they did
As someone who was raised by a lying t0xic parents and dated people who I now know are cheaters and liars, I understand why cutie wanted to listen in on geordi's thoughts.
I mean Fuck, if I'd be able to, I'd listen in on my current boyfriends thoughts just too make sure he's fine mentally and not thinking about doing something stupid
but I still am not excusing their behaviour, what they did was stupid and over all just rude, but I understand why.
If I was in their shoes in that moment, I would have said things and did things differently. I wouldn't have tried to push him into letting me in.
personally, I would have tried to talk to him about why I wanted to listen in, and the reason I felt like I should.
I truly believe they could have done better, but we can't change the past and what is canon. I just think we should tone it down and try too understand them before getting so heated
Headcanon: Neige is aware of Vil’s dislike of him, but presses anyway. He does it because seeing the cold beauty tic a bit makes him seem more human, less of a mountain to climb.
As much as he’s favored by the public, he knows he lacks in skill and experience in certain areas. He didn’t train his entire life to become an actor, he stumbled into it as a way to escape poverty. He didn’t have the time or energy to spend hours perfecting every angle, every possible angle of himself. He’s not up to date on every single fashion trend the way Vil keeps a pulse on it, and most likely has a larger team that helps him in his endeavors. He doesn’t feel like his efforts are enough to earn the recognition he has (imposter syndrome).
Imagine, winning to a rival more skilled than you in many ways just because you fit a type of mold better, a type of popular mold that’s cute and docile. Where you can never have strong opinions, where you constantly have to infantilize yourself to get ahead, when you can only ever play the good guy. The moment that you say something even mildly rude it’s taken out of its context, blown out of proportion, and spreads like wildfire, and we can’t have that now can we? So you bide any possible snarky comment under the guise of innocence, you chip back more and more and more until you’re left with only the barest of bones of yourself. Only the vague shape of the hue of your genuine emotions remain, but at least the sliver of your genuine being is enough to make them smile.
No wonder Neige looks up to Vil then, as while Vil is a nepo baby in many aspects and never had the burden of being the breadwinner: his skill is undeniable. He is flawless is his execution of what he does, and what he does is mainly by himself from the crumbs we are able to see. Yet at the same time, he’s comfortable enough to portray both the good and bad sides to the public, they are allowed to see both, to see Vil as a human. The grasping hands can play him off a mean or evil, but an evil actor given the prestige and time in the glamor would’ve surely been found out by now. Neige? That’s just the character in every story where there’s a hero. This of course is based on the assumption that Neige basically raised himself and the twisted version of the dwarfs by himself in that abandoned cabin.
Other redacted boy I’m obsessed with and need more of? Fucking ANTON
Oh I love that man, and I am so hyped that it’s looking like we’re gonna be getting more of him, actual him and not just the weird version of him Dreamer cooked up in their head. I’m so excited.
It’s such a small thing out of the entire audio, but the way Theos voice gets so small and soft when he says “they loved me” about his parents and them choosing to keep him, it just tugs at my heartstrings so fucking bad
I really love to attach myself to the characters in media that aren’t popular/aren’t given a lot of material(?), because why out of any characters in the entirety of the my knight series am I sitting here thinking about the North Queens parents?
Theo Merek you are EVERYTHING to me and I am begging on my knees that even if you don’t end up with Dreamer you are blessed with the Lasko treatment and are given your own listener
