Light around the door I've been away from Instagram and isolating out in the countryside, luckier than many. With no studio, no cameras and no one to be my hands. I’ve worked a way of holding and using my iphone #shotoniphone. I can now see a little light at the end of the tunnel. After #blacklivesmatter I felt I should go away and learn a lot. Someone, sadley I can’t remember who, said we should 'listen, learn, lament and labour’. I can highly recommend the book - ‘Why I'm no longer talking to white people about race’, still so much more to learn. A start. I noticed the plants I lived with every day had such elegance in their decay. Time would soon nudge them out off the way, as next years shoots pushed through. Apart from holding their seeds, their flowers had no useful function. Yet they retained their beauty and their dignity. So I gathered these plants from places special to me, left some to dry, decay and drop in forgotten vases. I then photographed the shapes in their moribund form.
