“I saved Latin. What did you ever do?”
“I was punched in the face. What’s your excuse?”
“So we both have dead people in our families.”
“I’m sorry, I just came by to thank you for WRECKING MY LIFE!”
“Mmm, I’m a little bit lonely these days.”
“She’s sweet, but she’s fucked-up.”
“I just wanted to say, I’m sorry I threw rocks at you that day.”
“Hell of a damn grave. Wish it were mine.”
“I’m talking about putting a brick through the other guy’s windshield. I’m talking about taking it out and chopping it up.”
“That’s the last time you put a knife in me!”
“Let’s shag ass.”
“I’m going to find it and I’m going to destroy it. I don’t know how yet, maybe dynamite.”
“What are you doing? Go to bed, you sons of bitches!”
“Son of a bitch, I’m sick of these dolphins.”
“Just do what you gotta do to cover your ass.
“If we don’t handle this right, we’re gonna all get murdered.”
“Be cool on this shit, okay, cubbie?”
“Obviously people are gonna think I’m a showboat and a little bit of a prick.”
“This is an adventure.”
“I still wish I could breathe underwater.”
“If you ever touch me again I will kick your goddamn teeth out.”
“We fuckin’ stole it, man.”
“I love you, but you don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“We’re in love. We just want to be together. What’s wrong with that?”
“I love you. I never hurt you you on purpose.”
You Moved? // One-Shot
[text to Sarah]: So, when exactly were you going to tell me that you moved?
[text from Sarah]: Oh, crap. [text from Sarah]: I forgot to tell you?
[text to Sarah]: Yes.
[text from Sarah]: Would you be slightly less mad if I said that it was a spur of the moment decision and as soon as I could move, I took the first opportunity?
[text to Sarah]: Yes, I would be ‘slightly less mad’ when you put it that way. [text to Sarah]: Still, two weeks go by and I hear nothing until I found out from your grandmother that you moved?
[text from Sarah - unsent]: I’m an idiot.
no your honor I absolutely can make my case like an adult. first things first, fuck the defendant and fuck his family too. secondly,
[lawyer voice] the prosecution makes a compelling argument, but have you considered this *puts middle finger up*
I had this ritual, where I’d show up for the audition, have a cigarette, and keep the stub until I heard whether or not I got the job. Now its a lot of meditation, music, I’m a bit music guy and I like to create my own playlists. Anything that helps get your concentration in order.
Fall in love with someone who wants you, who waits for you. who understands you even in the madness; someone who helps you, and guides you, someone who is your support, your hope. fall in love with someone who talks with you after a fight. Fall in love with someone who misses you and wants to be with you. Do not fall in love only with a body or with a face; or with the idea of being in love.

An All Hallows’ Evening⎜Richard and Sarah (Long One-Shot)
Sarah turned around quickly when she heard a knock at the door and hurried to answer it. Pulling back the curtain of one of the windows that framed either side of the door, she smiled when she saw Richard and quickly opened the door for him. She couldn’t help it as her eyes widened in surprise when she saw a child no older than eight standing next to him. “Hello, Richard,” she said in greeting, a soft smile on her face. “Care to introduce me to the dashing gentleman next to you?”

She flinches when you touch her, It is a conditioned response From a life of battered nerves, And you can’t imagine how it is That she can still ask you To wrap your arms around her, When so many other arms Have been cages.

Justice Is Served⎜James and Richard
There was no falter in his steps, despite the knowledge of where he was going and where he would end up at the end. Quiet emanated from the backseat, causing the officers in front to look back several times on the ride to the jailhouse to maintain the certainty that he was there. He knew that even if he could escape the police car, the lawyer was right behind and that man remained behind him even after they had taken him to booking.
His information was given, mug shot taken, fingerprints reported - those took a small amount of time. It was what came afterwards that turned the booking from minutes into hours - the full body search, health screening, DNA samples, followed by the information that was required to know if he would be a problem to other inmates. James knew that despite what he could say when faced with information, the lawyer waiting far too patiently for that jail cell door to slam shut in his face would place him in a far worse cell than one he knew would be assigned to him so remaining with the truth was the option he took.
Handcuffed, he was led by two officers to his home for the foreseeable future and placed inside, the handcuffs on his hands and feet removed as he was told the basics of how the jail operated which he had already heard once before. While it had been years since his last incarceration, the politics and policies remained the same - he wasn’t getting out anytime soon. When the officers were replaced by the lawyer, he tilted his head, his eyes remaining locked on the other’s.
“Come to gloat one final time?”
Richard smirked as he shook his head. He knew he was enjoying this far too well for a guy that had come in on the case only a few months previous, but he couldn’t help it. After seeing how much Sarah had to go through, not to mention all those other families, he felt it was his duty to give them the justice and a slight case of mocking they all deserved. “This isn’t even close to the last time you’ll see me, Mr. Sordini.”
“You see, not only is there the court arraignment and actual trial, but also the process of the financial aspects of this entire thing. You won’t exactly be needed in court for the financials as they’ll mostly be dealt with by the banks and I’ll pass on the information when I have it. More than likely, everything you own will be sold off at auction. It’ll be something of a drawn out process, but for how long we plan on keeping you in here, trying to do anything otherwise in order to keep your belongings just looks embarrassing.”
Shrugging, Richard checked his watch before nodding to the guard and upon receiving a nod in return, he turned his attention back to James. There was one last nail in the coffin that needed to be dealt with before he could leave. “Oh, and there’s one more thing. Just so you know, Sarah’s been barred from seeing you as I’m sure that was one of the many questions on your mind. We thought it would be better and easier for her and her family that way so don’t expect sympathy visits any time soon.”
Ever since he had met Sarah, he had longed for the day that he could say that James was behind bars, that the man would never harm Sarah and her family again. Now, he could and he would the second he stepped outside the prison doors. His eyes hardened as he stared the other man down, silence passing between them for a few seconds before he inclined his head, feeling that his point had been made. “Well, I must be off. Mr. Sordini, it has been an honor seeing you behind bars and it will be my pleasure to keep you here. See you in court.” With that, he turned on his heel and followed the guard out, walking out with a smirk and a sense of justice served in his heart.
The bastard finally got what he deserved.
Justice Is Served⎜James and Richard
Emotions had been so foreign to him that to realize they still occupied some sliver of his soul was a surprise he would never dare to admit. There had been no room for them, no necessary reason for their presence, and it was not until he had dared to begin the thought of escaping from the life he had led that they had returned - though not in full force. They had crept up on him as a predator does their prey, biding for the moment when the only action left was to pounce.
This was that moment for him.
Anxiety, denial, acceptance, and ultimately even fear settled in the pit of his stomach, grabbing tight and refusing to relinquish the hold they had, only to squeeze tighter as he felt once again the cold metal of handcuffs snapping around his wrists, securing him to his fate. While he was given the chance to go quietly, it was without any decency what with his arrest being filmed as it happened. He had expected worse to be honest and figured that this was indeed the eye before the storm, and if the eye was this quiet, he did indeed wonder what the actual storm would turn out to be like.
Remaining silent, even as his rights were read, he simply stared at the camera, no emotion showing on his face. He refused to give Bronwyn MacAllister and this lawyer any more ammunition or have a further hold on him. While they were taking away everything he had known, he was not allowing them anything else to gloat over. He could at least be content with that.
He was pulled roughly to his feet and searched, his gun being taken away and bagged by the officer to his right as the one to his left continued the search. When it was completed, they pulled on his jacket to move him in the direction of the car and he followed without protest.
As he watched James being taken away, Richard felt as though he could breathe normally for the first time in what felt like months. Finally he could say that his job was completed, that Sarah would be free and her family would be safe. He knew he couldn’t celebrate just yet though. Having James put in the back of the police car was only step one in this whole thing - he was going to see James behind bars before he even began to think about celebrating. He followed the officers out the door, locking and shutting the door behind him. He’d figure out what to do with the financial aspects later, for now he had other important issues on his mind.
When he saw them put James in the back and slam the door to the police car shut, he couldn’t help the small smile that appeared. Thankfully though it didn’t border on looking similar to a cat having eaten a canary. He still held his professional demeanor even if that was he was feeling on the inside. Nodding to the officers, he waved one of them over.
“I’ll follow right behind you. I want to see this through.”
True to his word, he followed behind the police car to the station and was there to watch James as he was led out of the car, into the station, and taken directly into booking.
