"No Castle." Beckett season 1 perhaps (because lbr season one was the best for slow burn dynamics)
âNo⌠you donât like my theory or No you think itâs a good idea?â he cringes. Almost biting his tongue at the pure hostility sheâs showing, or.. lack thereof. The woman confuses him but heâs learning.Â
Kate stared at Castle, she could feel a headache coming on but she sighed. Bringing her coffee cup to her lips, she shook her head. âBoth! Itâs ridiculous, it is not a serial killer returned from the dead.â
âare you sure about that?â He leans in, jerking an eyebrow and curling his lips, cutting through the barrier between them, âwhereâs your evidence that itâs notâ He looks her up and down before slowly moving away from her, resting back in his chair beside her desk.
âMy evidence, Castleâ Kate says with an exasperated sigh âis that people do not come back from the dead. I think youâve been spending too much time writing, and not enough time in the real world.â Kate turned back to her desk âNow if youâre done, iâm going to do some actual investigating to find the actual not dead killer.â
âOkay - so maybe that theory was a bit.. out-thereâ He admits and flops his shoulders with a pout before huffing loudly, leaning toward her desk and resting his elbow on it, poking at the pages on her desk like a child, aiming to get their parents attention.
âYou still want my help?â He asks with his signature puppy expression.

my12percentofamomentâ:
âI donât suppose you can call a cab from here. Can you?â She looked around him to where the cameras were gathering. âWeâll have to make a statement, Richard. Theyâre not just going to go away,â she frowned. âHow about I talk to them on behalf of the both of us? Besides, we have witnesses to the incident. What do you say? One small press conference? No questions. Okay?â
âwell since youâre offeringâ He stops in his tracks and turns, unclipping his arm with Peppers. âare you sure?â He asks, concern smacking him in the face as his eyes flash to meet the area where she was pistol-whipped a few moments ago.
Letâs do this.
Hello Darlinâ
orpheaxthexbrokenâ:
âThank you- Iâll try not to apologize for it too much⌠i just-â she stopped herself from apologizing once more. âJust thank you, Richard.â She gives him a little smile, letting out a nervous breathy chuckle and agreed to it.
âThat sounds good⌠they smell great too.â She replied, still catching her breath. âThank you.â She scooped some out with her fork and blew on it, trying to cool it a bit, fork shaking slightly as she did so. She stuffed her mouthful and let out a soft moan. âGod thatâs good.â She mumbled, nodding at him in approval.
Her heart fluttered as he took her hand, and her stomach flipped. Maybe he truly would want something with her⌠but that was a thought for later. For now she should just enjoy the moment. Her thumb stroked his chest lightly, feeling warm at how his body felt beneath the fabric. Strong. Maybe even a little hairy. It made her smile.
She could see his eyes desperate for information, though she knew he wouldnât ask. She sat in silence with him for a moment before she took a deep breath and set down her fork. She reached up for his cheek with her now available hand and caressed it tenderly as her other hand rested in his hand, pressed to his chest. âIt was the smell- not the sight. Iâll tell you more tomorrow?â She offered, wanting to give him something for now. She could tell he hated not knowing what had happened.

He smiles when she expresses how much she enjoys the vegetables, still remaining silent. Carefully watching her, observing her breathing and shaking. Sheâs settled for now, and thatâs something to smile about. her words are now more clear, as she cups his face with her soft hands. He blinks slowly.
Taking note of the smell of the food, he nods softly. âwhenever youâre readyâ He tells her. There was no need for her to tell him, âI wonât force you to talk about it if you donât want toâ He adds on, swallowing hard and hoping she realizes that she never has to do anything she doesnât like.
âHow about you get some sleep?â
She looked up at him quickly, nervous at the notion. âAlone?â She whimpered, before forcing a deep breath. âI think it would be a good idea to sleep⌠but-â she stayed close to him, needing human contact right now. âWill you- will- can I- can I sleep with you? No funny business like earlier I just- I would really like to be held- I understand if- if that makes you uncomfortable.â She spoke quick and in short broken sentences, nervous.
She looked down, pulling her hands from him and placing them in her lap, embarrassed to have to ask, feeling almost unworthy for doing so. She felt like a child again- and how frustrating it was.
âitâs fineâ He replies smoothly, âreally, itâs fineâ He continues, âi didnât intend for you to sleep aloneâ he tells her, âbesides my bed is a double king size, plenty of room to starfishâ he grins and gives her a warm smile, âyou can take a shower if youâd likeâ He looks over her shoulder and to the corridor that leads them into his office, then to the right to his bedroom and ensuite bathroom. Then again, she should know this, she cleaned up.
âItâs not awkward or uncomfortable. Donât worry about me, Okay?â He tells her, placing the leftovers away into their boxes and throwing them in the fridge for tomorrow. He grabs his cellphone and turns on his heels, making sure she was alright.
âitâs okay, you can take your time in the bathroom and iâll probably pass out .. but thatâs fine, just wake me up if you need toâ He tells her in a comforting tone before marching toward his office.
Orphea smiles, grateful for his kindness. She nodded lightly, squeezing his hand before heading to the bathroom to shower. She tied up her hair in a bun, twisting it so when it fell afterwards it would have a light curl. She hummed softly to herself as she started the water, moving to grab a dirty shirt of Richardâs from the hamper, pulling it on and buttoning it up. She hurried to the kitchen to grab the last of the veggies and her fork, scurrying back to the bathroom while eating it.
She closed the door behind her, slipping the shirt off and ate some more as the water warmed up. She rinsed off and cleaned her face, following the detailed skin regime she has had for the last ten years. About 45 minutes later her skin was clear of makeup, though it was so porcelain smooth you wouldnât know any different.
She took another two bites of the veggies, leaving one for Richard if he was up when she got out to him. She let her long hair down and pulled on that same shirt of his. She grabbed the box of food and the stick she had been using to stab it with to eat, and walked out to the bedroom, ready to offer the last bite and snuggle up.
Stepping back into his bedroom with his boxers and a loose black t-shirt. Castle freezes for a moment with a tense jaw.
âyouâre wearing my shirtâ He shrieks, but itâs in such a soft tone he smiles softly at her. it swallows her. âsuits youâ He snickers before sliding down onto his bed and slamming his back down on his side. melting into the blankets and mattress.
He turns to her, whoâs on his left watching her munch away at the vegetables, âstill hungry?â He smirks, watching how comfortable she is after her shower.
Resting his head back, Castle shoves his cellphone on a charge on his bedside table and leans his head back against his pillow. Dropping his shoulders and sighing deeply, heâs needed to lay down all day, and itâs late as it is.
âDo you want the light on?â Castle asks, eyebrows bouncing up in question as he looks to her and gestures to the bedside lamp.

... This again? Anon, darling we already established this once before. She has no intentions on harming Castle at all. Heâs safe and even if she did attack, Iâm certain he can hold his own hun. Itâs okay! please donât fret, heâll be okay!! <3
she loves him, she doesnât want to hurt him.
and Iâm certain sheâs not that desperate sheâd rape him. She has too much respect for him.

âthatâs how you treat someone who just saved your life!?â He shrieks, shielding her from any form of harm, but as he turns sheâs surrounded by security and heâs quick to lower his guard and sigh deeply, turning completely to watch as sheâs cuffed and the weapon is restrained, Castle howls loudly, before laughing.
âcan we get a medic or something?â He shouts loud, pointing to Pepper and patting her on the shoulder, just to annoy her while he tries to control the emotions that spread through him too fast to keep up. Exhaustion would be hitting him in the face soon with the adrenaline rush.
Moments sooner a medic from the crowd emerges and checks over Pepper while Castle feels like heâs about to have a heart-attack. He flops down beside Pepperâs chair, taking a moment.
@richardxcastle
âYou know how to pick them. Donât you?â She wasnât going to let him live this one down, not by a long shot.Â
Pepper grimaced as the medic touched over her head with a gloved hand. âIâm fine. Tell me I have to be on bedrest under watch for twenty four hours to make sure I donât have a concussion.â Clearly, she knew the drill. âI donât feel dizzy or lightheaded. Thank you.â
The medic nodded, letting her diagnose herself, and then disappearing.
âYou look like the one who needs a medic, Richard.â The sting from the blow was still there. âI think we better get out of here. These people got more than dinner and a show. Donât you think?âÂ
He continues to ignore her comment about his past choices, âwell i did just save your lifeâ he rubs it in and sighs deeply, âiâm fine though thanks for askingâ He scoffs and finally gets up, standing beside Pepper; he looks over her carefully. Itâs a nasty blow, but sheâs a trooper.
Although for him, heâs feeling lightheaded and ready to hit the floor but he continues on.
âYeap, letâs get out of hereâ He whispers and gestures for her to link her arm with his. Moving out of the building and into the fresh air of the night.Â
âYouâre one hell of a date,â she rested her hand on his arm, clutching her purse with her other hand. âI donât know about you, but I could really use a bath and some aspirin.âÂ
Her eyes settled across the street. âOh look more media. Joy,â the word came out sarcastically.
âI meant it though. You. Me. California. We need to get out of this place.â
âlike I told you, Iâll go wherever you areâ He repeats himself and sighs deeply at the incoming media, a groan leaves his lips and his shoulders drop. Craning his neck, Castle feels the unsettling urge to throw-up.
Making a sharp turn, Castle steers them down and into an alley away, away from media. Maybe the can hail a cab from there and he can get Pepper the bath she needs and him the sleep he feels he needs.

âIt stings,â she confessed. âBut not as bad as what Dinaâs going to be dealing with tomorrow. Yes. Letâs try and turn down the crazy.â Pepper frowned at him downing the glass. âLetâs not go drowning our sorrows in wine and champagne. Okay? Why donât we grab some horderves? Before we get drunk and do something stupid?â
âoh, i donât do anything stupid while drunkâ he laughs, lying but did it matter? He knew she could tell he was just pulling her leg or something of that nature.
âbut ⌠I am hungryâ He tells her before darting his eyes across the floor, looking for the food table. Once he spots the table, Castle marches toward it, with Pepper in his arm; once again dragging her with him. Arm in arm, but of course heâs gentle and childish all the same.
âMe too,â she leaned over the table and grabbed him and herself plates. âIâm famished. Weâve had quite a night, you and I. Tomorrow we will be branded, you and I, as in a couple. There are worse things that they could say.â A pig in a blanket was taken off the dish and set on her plate. Then another. She moved on to some fruit. âThey could say youâre sleeping with the Stark Industries CEO.â She laughed as She hip checked him.
âis that a bad thing?â He chuckles at her as she swipes him in the hip, getting as much food as he can on his plate; theyâve had such a wild night already and itâs just started, but he was thoroughly enjoying it none the less.
âweâll deal with it tomorrow,â he tells her, adding more layers of food to his place, âletâs just enjoy the nightâ He adds and gives her a smile before making his way down to their seats.
âI guess not.â She took a bite and chewed slowly. âNo more alcohol for us, Richard. We want to be lucid. Press is going to ask us questions. Weâre already getting funny looks.â
âThatâs fine, but can we at least have a glass with our food?â He asks her with a pout, hoping sheâll agree until she admits the looks theyâre receiving across the floor. Itâs not something Castle wasnât used to, but he certainly didnât want to draw too much attention to Pepper. Too bad, whatâs been done is done. Now, they have to deal with it. Theyâre both public figures.
Taking a fork full of rice, Castle eats away at his place before finally drawing his deep blue eyes up to meet Pepper, but his eyes widen and throat clenches. Smacking the fork down as he swallows hard and glares behind Pepper. Anger spreads across his face, immediately stepping up from his seat.
His eyes narrow on the muzzle of the gun soon pressing against the back of Pepperâs head, shaking in the grasp of the drunken Dina, who scowls; Her face red-raw, and eyes bloodshot.Â
The entire floor is unaware of the event unfolding near them. Too busy drinking, talking and even some dancing to the mellow music within the dance floor.
Sheâs hammered and clearly been crying. ânow whoâs smart?â She snarls at Pepper, towering over her. Holding the weapon to her head, but her handshakes. Her eyes flash up to meet Castleâs as he stands.
âRichard?â She could feel the circle of cold over her hair. Pepper had known that her life was in danger for being a close member of Tony Starkâs circle, but this? This was completely different. Without being able to see Dina, she had to rely on Richard and his replies to figure out exactly where the womanâs state of mind was. This was desperate to a whole new level.
âHow about you point that at meâ Castle demands, his eyes becoming cold. Still narrowing the weapon in the womanâs grasp, still shaking. Sheâs unpredictable and thatâs what frightened him the most. Hell, he even checked if the safety was on and unluckily for them, it wasnât.
Castleâs arms soon rise, showing Dina that heâs not there to cause any harm or do anything to compromise Pepperâs life.
âYou pull that trigger and youâre done, you hear me?â Castle tells her, trying to reason and make it clear to her how fucked her life is if she attempts to murder in a sea of people, who at the moment werenât looking but soon theyâll see the weapon pointing at Pepper Potts head.
Castleâs eyes flash down to meet Peppers at this point, hoping heâs made it abundantly clear whatâs going on.
Yeah, she could tell by he reaction that the both of them had bitten off more than they could chew. The woman, clearly, had a weapon of some kind, presumably, a gun to the back of her cranium.
Pepperâs hands stayed down on the table. She couldnât make a move without Dina seeing it. She was in the hands of Richard, who seemed to be doing his best to keep the woman at bay.
âHelp?â She mouthed.
Seeing her mouth the word, help. He swallows hard and blinks flashing his eyes up to meet with Dinaâs. He knew her, and he knew what she wanted. âHow about we have a talk? just you and me?â He asks Dina, his face soft and calm as much as he possibly is in this situation without the anger showing in his eyes with each blink.
âwe can go out on the balcony and talk or we can leave - just you and meâ He gestures to the balcony, which sadly occupied a few people as he said it but he attempts to remove her and himself from the table, anything to keep Pepper safe.
âjust us?â Dina finally speaks, but she barks, âno funny business Rick, i know youâ She growls, stepping closer toward Pepper in her chair.
âNo-no funny businessâŚletâs get out of here,â He asks her now, hands still raised but beads of sweat start to crawl across his brow. âcome onâ He forces a smile and steps away from the table now, trying to edge her away from Pepper but sheâs motionless as tears flicker in her eyes.
âWhat makes her better than me?â She asks him, still not moving.
Castle mentally smacks himself upside the head before immediately replying, âWhat makes you think sheâs better?â Castle lies, but he holds his own and the words flourish from his lips like he meant every word.
Dina is silent for a moment before finally stepping away, but as she does she grasps the handle harder and pistol whips Pepper across the back of her head, making sure she did some sort of damage.
Castle almost launches forward to Pepper but Dina grabs his arm and pulls him back, forcing him toward the entrance of the grounds with the weapon resting against his back. Not that it mattered to him, and within a few steps he moves to his side and pushes Dina down hard before racing back and quickly shielding Pepper.
At the risk of getting shot, she raises an eyebrow at the womanâs question. Well, for starters, she didnât bring a gun to a party and then threaten anyone with it.
That man has a way with words. Itâs what he does for a living. He entangles fictional things and makes them so that they become truths, fictional truths.
Throwing her head forward, Pepper winced. That was going to leave a bump. Lots of party goes witnessed that. Yes. She was reconsidering pressing charges and then giving Richard a piece of her mind when it came to his dating choices.
âWould not be a good time to tell you that youâre being an idiot?â
âthatâs how you treat someone who just saved your life!?â He shrieks, shielding her from any form of harm, but as he turns sheâs surrounded by security and heâs quick to lower his guard and sigh deeply, turning completely to watch as sheâs cuffed and the weapon is restrained, Castle howls loudly, before laughing. âcan we get a medic or something?â He shouts loud, pointing to Pepper and patting her on the shoulder, just to annoy her while he tries to control the emotions that spread through him too fast to keep up. âRichard?â She could feel the circle of cold over her hair.
He knew her, and he knew what she wanted. âHow about we have a talk? just you and me?â He asks Dina, his face soft and calm as much as he possibly is in this situation without the anger showing in his eyes with each blink.
âwe can go out on the balcony and talk or we can leave - just you and meâ He gestures to the balcony, which sadly occupied a few people as he said it but he attempts to remove her and himself from the table, anything to keep Pepper safe.
âjust us?â Dina finally speaks, but she barks, âno funny business Rick, i know youâ She growls, stepping closer toward Pepper in her chair.
âNo-no funny business...letâs get out of here,â He asks her now, hands still raised but beads of sweat start to crawl across his brow. âcome onâ He forces a smile and steps away from the table now, trying to edge her away from Pepper but sheâs motionless as tears flicker in her eyes.
âWhat makes her better than me?â She asks him, still not moving.
Hello Darlinâ
orpheaxthexbrokenâ:
She whimpered quietly, moving to wrap her arms around him tightly, fingers intertwining in his hair, gently holding it as she squeezed him back. Her whole body was shaking, as if she were freezing, and her breathing was quick and shallow. She tried to breathe like her therapist told her- slow and deep- but god it was hard.
She spent about five minutes whimpering and breathing before she could calm down. Eventually she was only crying softly, and pulled away, embarrassed by what he had to just do for her. She sniffles and wiped at her eyes. âIâm sorry- I wish you wouldnât of had to do that.â She whimpered, cheeks flushed with pink from both the embarrassment of her flashback and of her witness. âI⌠I donât like the noodles,â She said quietly, âyou can have them.â She whispered, resting her palms on his chest, picking lint from his chest.

A silent nod is exchanged as she admits the noodles are a no for her; a sign that it could have been them that triggered her. Heâs unsure but he takes a mental note of it and quickly pulls them away, shoving them back into the bag, covering it and sealing it from her view.Â
âwell... i wouldnât want someone else doing it - someone that doesnât careâ he tells her, watching her carefully, âyou donât need to be sorry,â He tells her but this time heâs strict in his tone, making it clear that she should never apologize over something she canât control. heâs the same when it comes to anger.
âTry the vegetablesâ Castle suggests, poking the smaller box with steamed vegetables in soy sauce and other glorious sauces. Itâs his way of steering her self sabotaging thoughts to something more healthy.
As he suggests the vegetables, he curls his fingers around her hand, holding her hand that rests on his chest. Gently stroking it; the evidence of her trembling body still there with small shakes with her breathing.

âIt stings,â she confessed. âBut not as bad as what Dinaâs going to be dealing with tomorrow.

Fracture || Castle & Jedi
jedicollinsâ:
Jedi just sits there and listens, not really doing anything else. Itâs not like she can really argue with whatâs going to happen and what her treatment is going to be. This is something she signed up for after all. Itâs something she chose to happen. So what Simon thinks is best? Thatâs going to happen. So sheâs not arguing, sheâs just listening and asking a question here and there when somethingâs not really all that clear. All the medical jargon isnât something she understands in the slightest.
She watches silently as things are discussed, jumping out of her skin when her eyes are covered. She reaches up to grab at the hands, only to stop instantly from attempting to dig her fingers into the personâs wrists to get his hands off.
âDad!â she exclaims at the sound of his voice. Sheâs on her feet in an instance, almost knocking her chair over in the process. She turns, throwing her arms around him, burying her face against this chest. Heâs here. She shouldâve known that he would be there. He always was there when she needed him the most.
She holds on tightly to him, her eyes closed, feeling the tears starting to appear already. Heâs here. Heâs alright. Thereâs no sign of the blood or the pain or anything that happened the night before. She pulls away just enough to be able to look at him, eyes full of worry and concern. âAre you okay?â she asks, tears start streaking down her cheeks.
Martha only smiles, continuing the conversation with Simon. Someone has to pay attention; she knows her son isnât really going to be able to do that with Jedi in the room. Well, perhaps he will, but for the moment, heâs too preoccupied. âYou will take good care of her, wonât you?â she asks, pinning Simon with a look.
âOf course.â Simon replies. âSheâll be in good hands.â
Heâs so close. So fucking close. He has to do something. He wonât be able to control himself. What to do. He doesnât know. He doesnât know. That bitch is touching him. Sheâs touching him. He wants to be in her shoes. He can see the love on his face for the bitch. Sheâs going to pay. Sheâs going to pay for causing him this much pain.
Just a little while longer. Just keep calm. You can do this. You can do this. He pinches his finger tighter, feeling like itâs going to dislocate soon if he keeps this up. Heâs not going to be able to explain this. He releases the pressure, then starts again. Over and over and over again.
âMr. Castle.â he finally speaks up, rising to his feet. Itâs a miracle his voice is so steady. âG-good to finally meet you.â He grimaces, fucking stammer.
Alexis only smiles brightly, not realizing what the stammer really is. âDonât be nervous.â She tells Simon. âHeâs not that famous.â She teases.
Castle is utterly pleased to see her, and in her Pikachu onesie, he bought her. She holds onto him so tightly, and he returns the tight embrace. Keeping her safe in his arms, where he wished she could be. Kissing her on the head, Castle keeps a firm hold of her until she pulls away; her eyes darting across him, searching for any signs of trauma but his hair is neatly taken care of, lips soft and pink and eyes deep blue and filled with love as he watches her.
âIâm fine, are you?â He asks her carefully, he can see the dark pigmentation beneath her eyes, sheâs tired.
Castle turns to Jediâs doctor, still with his arms snaked around Jedi - with no intention to let go either, but he does release his closest arm and holds his hand out for a handshake. This is the man who is taking care of her, of course, heâs going to be kind to him.
He notices the stutter, but itâs common when people meet him. He smiles softly at the doc and finally, squeezes his hand as he shakes it before letting go and turning to him slightly.
Castle shoots Alexis a glare as she attempts to soothe the doc, a scowl on his lips before he pouts and looks to the doctor once again. âNice to meet you too, Dr...â He hums softly, waiting for him to announce his name.
Simon can feel his tongue jolting and lips slightly quivering; his stutter is returning and he knew why, but he does his best to trap it and keep himself composed, but fuck. Heâs right there. He just shook his hand.
âSorry, Dr. Ettrige, but.. p-please call me S-Simonâ Fuck fuck! This can not be happening, he wants to scream at himself and harm himself for his stutter. Something that took years to overcome has surfaced again and itâs driving him crazy already when all he wants to do is enjoy every single second of his moment with Castle.
âSimonâ Castle nods and continues to bring a warm smile to his lips, âso youâre the one taking care of my girlâ He adds on before taking a small look around. noticing the security guard at the main entrance to the visiting room and the orderly that Grams was obsessed with.
He canât process anything the moment Castle spoke his name, heâs frozen. Thereâs a moment of pure shock that overrides him until he pulls himself from the moment and takes a seat again, melting into the chair as he attempts to gather himself. He really needs to get his fucking shit together or heâll blow it right then and there - get your shit together.
