The sun felt nice. Not being hungover also felt nice. He'd been partying less this last year but still... a little more relaxation couldn't hurt. Especially since he saw the effort Atty made to go to most of those parties with him... even if he did try to hide it. And Louie kinda didn't want to go to most of them without him. So maybe more slow nights out, dinner, a movie... or skip to the staying in and doing what they wanted to indoors. A noise caught his attention, a familiar voice that had his heart hammering against his chest before his brain could put a face and name to it. He turned towards the sound, trying not to cringe. He'd forgotten how now every time he walked out he was liable to running into Richie and getting a full on anxiety attack. It was definitely easier when he could just watch his movies and pinch the inside of his hands when he felt he was getting too caught up looking at him. "Uh. I kinda already have a lunch da..." Louie's voice sputtered out as he stopped before he forcibly did this to himself. He couldn't keep running and disengaging himself from any interaction with Richie. First of all, he still couldn't stand the idea of seeing any disappointment in his eyes. Not that he'd be that disappointed, he probably had tons of people to hang out with now, he was a movie star. But still. Also, he didn't really want to walk away... he never did, he was just scared and he didn't like feeling like that scared kid again. Whilst his internal monologue kept his mind occupied, his body took control and by the time he focused again he was already pulling out the free chair in the table. "Yeah, kinda busy with the last exhibition." Louie mumbled. "Hey Rich..ie." He cleared his throat. "How're you doing?"
"Oh." He couldn't prevent his heart from dropping to his stomach at the sight of Louie, not because he seemed to be aging like fine fucking wine... but because of the storm of expressions that showed up on his face once he approached him. Richie was already bracing himself for rejection, knowing he would probably have to stab himself in the leg with the nearest fork as to distract himself from looking as devastated as he would feel... but apparently he was wrong because he was now being graced with company. "My treat!" He couldn't keep his smile at bay, his face breaking into utter happiness. "Eds, you've gotta get me an invite to one of those. What's the upcoming theme or uh, artist? You know how much I love eating finger foods and pretending to know what I'm looking at while someone much smarter explains it to me... talking about you, by the way." Richie, for the life of him, did not realize he was doing finger guns at Eddie until it was too late. He cleared his throat and jumped in his seat, using that as an excuse to scoot his seat closer to him. "It's been good." His voice was a little pitchier than usual and he used that as a follow up excuse to gulp down some of the complimentary water. "I gotta say with all the bullshit that's gone down over the past few years, this place is winning me over. It's like rehab for your mental state." Richie sighed out sincerely albeit a tad frustrated, the fear he did not know how to talk to Louie anymore lingering in the back of his head. "If I'm honest, I'm getting a bit bored. Running into you has been a pretty fucking grand highlight, y´know?" He choked out with a little laugh. "Funny how life works out and it's hilarious as shit." Where, for the love of Norm Macdonald, was their waiter?
