RickPrime - Was looking for some of his things in Quantums room when he see's bits of paper on the floor. He blinks as he reaches down and reads them.
Quantum’s life was gradually falling to pieces, bit by bit. When he wasn’t working to keep the Citadel from collapsing in on itself, he was struggling with his own internal conflicts and feelings, feelings that were completely unfamiliar to him, feelings he wish didn’t exist. He had hoped that night would bring restful sleep, but instead he only stopped in the doorway of his office when he saw Prime reading torn scraps of journal stationary picked up from his floor.

Quantum could argue. But he refused to do that. Instead, there was shame welling in his chest. His voice remained quiet, of little comfort he had no doubt. He shook his head, however, at the accusations, “That’s not true, Prime. I care deeply for you. I’d give you the world if I could. Would that I had the insight and strength to protect you from myself. You are… you are not the issue, Prime… the fault lies with me.” Quantum shut his eyes, feeling pain in his throat. He was silent for a moment, forcing himself to listen to Prime’s sobbing.
Listen to the agony you’ve caused.
“…You might be happy to know that his heart lies with another. I could not have partnership with him even if I wanted to,” he paused, moving away from the door slightly. Hearing Prime no longer loved him, he wasn’t sure how to feel. He had no right to feel hurt, he felt. But was it cold of him to feel relieved? Perhaps Prime could develop feelings for someone who was capable of loving him the way he should be. The way he deserved to be. “You… deserve someone better. Better than me. Better than some lowlife incapable of love. I will always care for you Prime… But if you want me to go, you have but to say the word.”
“No one will ever love me. My family never did when they forced me to Marry a bitch. They knew I didn’t like women, but forced it.” Prime sighed. “I am the fool for thinking anyone could love me at all” He shook his head. “How can I love someone.. when the people who say they love me.. are lying to my face?” He held his knees to his chest, letting them muffle his sobs.
“You may always care for me.. but you ripped my heart out and stepped on it like it was a piece of trash” he choked as he held his chest. “Love is for idiots..” He shook as he laid down on the floor of his office now. “His heart may belong to someone else.. but who knows, maybe he will take you into his massive gorilla arms” He snorted. “I was an idiot for thinking you had feelings for me.. only feelings you wanted was your cock in my ass” He snapped. “You USED ME”
“Believe what you want, Prime,” Quantum said finally, backing away from the door, “I only wanted to please you and make you happy. But I guess none of that matters, does it?” He paused, going silent for a moment, before saying quietly, “Please be well, Prime. Go to sleep and rest. I will trouble you no longer.” He proceeded then to walk away from the door to return to his own office.
Prime shook.. This was it. They were done. He sighed as he closed his eyes. He texted his superior. [txt] I am going away for awhile. I don’t care if paperwork piles up. But I need to get the fuck away. He changed his phone background.. his lock screen. It had been of him and Quantum, but he couldn’t anymore. He sent one final text to Quantum. [txt] I am going away. Prime’s hands had been shaking as he slowly looked at Quantum. Stilling holding the scraps in his hand he just threw them into the nearby trash can. He pushed Quantum aside and went straight to his office. He should have fucking known better.. He leaned against the now closed door as he held his head in his hands. “I fucking.. should have known..” He shook his head as he tried to get his thoughts together.
Quantum didn’t resist being pushed, allowing Prime to rush past him back to his own office. His chest ached and his eyes closed, head lowering. He had a good hunch what was written down on the stationary now in the trash can. Quantum could easily go on the defensive, tell Prime he had no right to sift through his belongings. But he knew that wasn’t the case, or fair to the other. Prime had every right to know. And Prime had every right to be angry.
Quantum instead followed Prime back to his office, not quite knocking on his door just yet and instead listening in through the door. After a while, he quietly spoke up, “…I never meant to hurt you, Prime. You’re… the last person I ever want to hurt in this horrible world.”
Prime hadn’t excepted Quantum to follow him, so hearing his voice only made it hurt much worse. “....” There was no response. Prime was angry, hurt, Sad, and felt this was his own fault.
