An introduction ✩°｡⋆⸜(˙꒳˙ ) -
Hello! You can refer to me as Mimi/august, im a (redacted age temporarily but MINOR) gaijin Gyaru from the U.S! I haven't been Gyaru for too long but was formally introduced to it in late 2020-early 2021. 2021 was when I became gyaru before soon giving up due to the fact that I couldn't quite get the makeup down. despite this though, my passion for gyaru remained and I continued learning about the history along with so many other cool things about gal! and took the time in between to learn how to properly do makeup in general, I'm a huge makeup lover now lolol. Anyways, to finish my original thought, i'm far from being a vet gal but I wouldn't consider myself entirely new either. (But maybe I'd still be considered a baby gal due to the fact that I wasn't a gal in between the years? i'm not sure, I've never actually heard any gal discuss at what point you'd stop considering yourself a baby gal 🤔)

What initially sparked my interest in gal was yamanba/manba. I'd never seen anything like it before so when I first saw it I was really intrigued. I liked how extreme it looked and how in many pics I saw of manba and yamanba gals, they seemed to be standing out amongst the surrounding crowds + they just always seemed to look like they were having so much fun!! finding out the rebellious connotations that came along with these substyles only peaked my interest further. while learning about the many other substyles within the subculture, I became more and more enamored with gal as a whole. I thought (and still think) that the confidence so many gals exuded was so admirable and I loved the way they embraced their tan skin and fun looks in a society that expected them to be rather "clean cut" and traditionalist. I also love how hyper feminine gal is, hence my love for substyles like agejo, tsuyome, romanba, and hime! Anyways, since becoming a gal, I've noticed myself have an extreme boost in confidence and began to embrace my self expression in ways I had never really thought about before.

What substyles are you currently into and why?
Right now, i'm really into tsuyome, onee, ora, and banba as the fashion side of all of these mesh very well with the wardrobe I already have + my everyday life. 💬
Do you have any inspirations? if so, who?
The top of my list would definitely be Kanae Watanabe (@watanabekanae on IG), then otknoharuka, aichorisu, harutama, heartsdales, melody, namie amuro, m-flo, and Koda kumi. 💬

What are your goals for this blog?
Honestly I want this blog to be a way for me to connect to other gals through inspiration and friendship. I also just want to share aspects of my life to the community too, gyaru now being a part of that! Specifically, I think in the future i'd like to post hauls, makeup tutorials, rants and other neat things !! 💬
