I am taking more time to write and thinking more critically rather then just doing everything at once. I am also taking more time to reread my work and make sure I'm hitting all the key points.

So far the trends I'm seeing in the data is that any post that is about new members gains more likes and comments than other posts. I think that is because people are excited about new members so it leads to higher engagement.

I am collecting data by picking posts that are recent (within the last 2-3 months) so that the data shows current people who are interacting with the posts and people that are still showing interest in the organization and the posts.

I am dividing my project by completing a part of each day. Like for example one day collecting data, the next day analyzing the data, then taking notes, etc until the project s complete.

My strategy to work through a little bit each day and throughout the day so its less I have to do right when its due. I sometimes I wait to do projects until close to the due date and it can lead to stress for me and affects how good my project is.

I would say my working definition of university social media strategy is the why and what behind. This could be specific events to get students to come to, posts to get people to enroll, and other things. These posts always have a purpose to them. It helps to shape the culture and community of a campus.

Social media is widely used by university to reach out to the students and public about the activities they have and to share the universities values/ what is important to them. This is a way to promote the university. An example of this is Millerville using social media to reach out to the public about an open house MU is hosting for future college students to get a feel of the campus life and education.

The posts are meaningful to me because they share information like when we close for bad weather and big university events. Also Marauder Monday, information about the school and highlights from Millersville.

They have this goal in hopes of reaching the audience of prospective college students so they will grab their attention causing them to schedule a tour. They then hope they will apply to go to college here after their tour if they are still impressed. Then lastly if they get accepted they hope they will accept the offer and become a student.

I think that universities use social media as a way to advertise their campus but also to promote it. It's also used to relay important info like cancellations from weather, university events, highlights, etc. I think they also use it to show the community on campus and show off organizations and clubs on campus.

I wanted to make sure that I am understanding the what is content. For the what is content assignment I just want to make sure I read it right and that I am screenshotting one of my posts and only talking about that one post? Also should I be including what I wrote in this assignment and putting it in my reflection 1 assignment?

what does your writing process look like when you draft an essay?

When writing an essay I like to essentially build it up based on ideas. I like to develop ideas as the fundamental cornerstone of the paper. From there I find information (or in research essay’s references) to support those ideas. Those are the 2 major components for me to build an essay around. From there having the ideas and information to support the ideas, I can really build around it, and fill in information. To me, it’s super easy at this point since everything is in one place.

I am also a firm believer in building the body paragraphs and then writing into/conclusion after the fact. I will say though, I have noticed when it’s a essay that’s completely from scratch I follow that guidance, but when I actually have a given prompt to follow it is easier to start with an intro since ideas are essentially given to you and go from there.

For me depending on the depth of an idea I like to aim for 1-3 ideas per page. Very basic ideas that are a minimal paragraph there needs to be quite a few of, but for those ideas that have the ability to have multiple paragraphs, they are super quality ideas and I usually don’t have to use many ideas to fill an essay up (the less ideas, the better the paper in my opinion).

I think I have a unique way of writing an essay, but being in a major where almost every assignment is a paper and have hundreds of pages of work a semester, I have been able to refine it, and realize it’s very successful for the way I work.

I think your writing process and very strong and I like how you make sure you have firm ideas. I don't usually write my body paragraphs first but thats something I might try now.
