Lucy sat, her movements elegant and powerful at the same time. “The town has gone… really quiet. I can’t decide if that’s a good or a bad thing. What do you think, dear?” she asked, her voice gentle despite the slight mischievous tone.
Personally, he hated it. He’d been sitting there for awhile thinking about how quiet things had gone. It was like a radio silence enveloped him, and... He hated it. He didn’t want to voice that though. Instead, he shrugged. “It’s different, I guess.”

“Not for me.” The werewolf smiled. “I rather like the surprise of life, don’t you?” She gave the boy a charming smile.
“Yeah, life’s sure full of surprises,” he agreed before eying within the store once again. It was pointless for the day. He’d come back another time. “Surprises like stores closed on a Tuesday.”

Jordan had to do the best he could to not laugh as he accepted the money and pocketed it with only a fond smile. “Venmo, bud. Only one ‘o’ and no mooing like a cow is required,” he gently responded, proud that only a few chuckles escaped in the process. “But I promise you that there’s no need to worry about the money at all, in any way. What else are friends for?” Jordan would be more than happy to close whatever gap came up when the price for sun jewelry was revealed. Where his family and friends were concerned, he was always happy to pitch in. “The only thing that I will ask for is the movie marathon?”
“Right. Venmo. I said that.” He had not said that. Hearing that Jordan would take care of the rest, Riley seemed visibly relieved as he put the wallet away again. Usually, he hated touching his bank account. It had taken too much to open it since he was... Dead. That’s why he normally paid in cash. “Well, thank you, Jordan. I can definitely do a movie mara-- Wait, your movies or my movies? That could change how long the marathon lasts.”

Agnes stepped back a little, both her eyebrows shooting up. “A sun protection stone thing?”, she was not acting dumbfound, she truly was. Was he tricking her? Another hunter in disguise setting up a trap so she might admit the truth herself? Agnes stepped forward reaching out, without waiting for his approvement she touched his hand. Then the vampire could not help but laugh a little. It was as cold and dead as her own. How could she be stupid enough to miss something like this? Damn her and her head being all over the place. If Felix heard of this he would mock her for a century. “I am sorry”, Agnes quickly covered her mouth with her hand, “It’s really mean of me to laugh at that, but I… I am just putting the puzzle pieces together right now and I cannot believe I never realised it before today” She shook her head before focusing once more on his problem. Secrecy was a precious gift but if he decided to be truthful she could do the same, right? “Well, with everything that happened in this town we need to stick together, right? I might be able to help you out with your problem. In exchange for a promise”
When she grabbed his hand, he nearly yanked it back like he’d been prodded with hot iron. Instead, he froze when he felt exactly what she did. Cold and dead. No heartbeat. After a moment, he joined in the laughing because he’d really been so wary of her when she was like him. That was stupid of him. “No, no, you’re fine.... So you’re also?” He asked without saying the word. There was no telling who could be around. But then hearing she may have a solution, he dropped the subject completely, “Yeah, anything. I’ll promise anything.”

The vampire looked from the boy in front of her to the dark windows of the shop beside them. She knew how it felt to have people depend on you. All thought that feeling belonged to her past, to her human life. Agnes could not understand what a fortune teller could have that might help this young barkeep to keep his job and his promise but she tried to help him anyway. “Are you sure she’s the only one that could help you? Maybe you can talk to your boss and you can find a solution together? He will surely understand if important reasons keep you from working tomorrow” Humans were good at holding grudges but most of them could be quite forgiving.
Saying anything else would give away what he was, but already, somebody seemed understanding to his condition. Maybe she would be the same way. Taking in a deep breath, he exhaled before looking over to her. “I need a sun protection stone thing. Usually, I don’t work until the sun’s down but... By taking this shift it’s still going to be bright and sunny while I go help set up an event. I just don’t want to have to explain that to my boss. Not after everything that happened in town. Because what if he’s... What if anyone at that bar is one of them?”

“Good thing you stopped me or else I would have taken you up on that,” Jordan chuckled before he listened to Riley’s idea and nodded in agreement. That sounded like the best course of action since it hopefully wouldn’t include the risk of an angry witch, something he very much wanted to avoid encountering for as long as possible. “Yeah, I can do that. You also don’t have to worry about paying me because it’s no trouble at all.” He was always happy to pitch in and lend a hand whenever an opportunity came up. “I wouldn’t say no to a movie night though. Hanging out with one of my best friends, being able to eat my weight in popcorn and candy? What could be better than that?”
Once he had his wallet out, he handed over at least a hundred dollars. He had no clue how much witches charged for sun jewelry, but he wasn’t going to assume it was cheap. In fact, he was afraid he wasn’t giving Jordan enough. “If that’s not enough, just text me and I can... What’s the thing people do now? Venmoo? Is that the word?” He asked with a slightly concerned expression as he thought he was saying it wrong. “Whatever it is, I can send you cash through that.”

Dwight smiled, happy to talk about his dog. “Winston. I like using human names for animals. I always have since I was a kid. He’s good company,” he said, ruffling the dog’s head.
“Winston is a very smart name,” he said before kneeling to the dog’s height and offering a hand. “I had a dog when I was younger named Cooper. He wasn’t very bright, but he probably got that from me.”

Jazz pulled a face, trying not to show her opinion of witch craft too heavily. If she was honest it frightened her, even if some of her friends were witches. She half smiled at the vampire. “Needed some air, i think Nate and my mom are just worried about me… but it can be a little smothering. Sometimes i just need to be alone y’know?”
“I understand that,” he agreed with a small smile. The entire reason he’d left on his roadtrip so many years ago was because he thought his parents were smothering him. Riley wished he could take that back. “Need a walking buddy? Since she’s not here, I think I’m probably just going to go.”
i swear there will be a day where i don’t post ooc but
last night i was in tropical cyclone warning until early in the morning so i’m going to nap and then be on probably during the evening in my timezone. hope everyone’s having a good day!

A sympathetic grimace appeared on Jordan’s face first which was swiftly replaced with a small chuckle. He fired back, “The wolf nose is a very powerful thing and you wouldn’t believe the things I know thanks to it.” Of course, even the class clown was capable of being serious and he was already trying to drum up potential solutions. “I’ve never been above a little bit of classic bribery. Especially if it’s all about helping a friend keep a secret,” he offered. “I could also try to look for her on social media? Send a message and see what happens from there?”
“Bet you can’t even guess what I had for lunch then,” he commented before realizing who he was talking to and holding up a finger, “But don’t smell my breath please. It was one of those fake blood packs.” The usual lunch for him now. When Jordan offered to send a message through social media, Riley raised a brow and looked over to him. That could work. But, no, that might lead to an angry witch. Suddenly, an idea hit him and he pulled out his wallet. “Or, you could come tomorrow before my daytime shift and buy one for me? I’ll even give you some extra cash for the trouble.”

“It’s a phrase. Now when people started using it in everyday conversation, I couldn’t tell you,” Jordan answered. He gave a slight shrug of his own when he noticed Riley’s hesitation before he donned an encouraging smile. “Think the worst she could do is a curse. It’s worth a try at least and if needed, there might be other witches who know how to do the sun protection thing,” he continued.
Giving Jordan one more look, Riley knocked three times on the door and waited. “Come on, Samara’s Fortune... Come one...” Yet, after a solid two minutes passed, nobody came. Riley groaned and rest his head against the door. “Problem is that I’d have to tell those other witches what I am. I don’t exactly want it public knowledge and you only know because of that wolf nose.”

“Thank you, it just doesn’t feel right to go to your apartment. Especially with everything going on,” she nodded, giving him a slight smile. “There’s a coffee cart nearby, yeah.”
“Right, and I probably shouldn’t be inviting anyone into my apartment,” he agreed quietly. He knew it wasn’t a case of her knowing he was a vampire now, but part of him still feared she no longer trusted him after the revelation. “Well, let’s go to the coffee cart! On me.”

“Okay,” Dwight nodded, though he didn’t believe in knowing one’s future. “Oh well, you can come back tomorrow. Just one of those things,” he said with a slight smile. He looked down, petting his dog’s head.
Looking down to the dog, Riley decided to stop his moping for a moment to point to the animal. “What’s your dog’s name? They’re really cute.”

Jazz kept her arm’s folded, her head taken up by all the goings on of the last week. She hated being alone at night. She glanced when she heard the familiar voice. “Uhh that store?” She gave an amused smile, knowing he wasn’t looking for a literal answer. “Need something?”
“Nothing in particular-- I mean, something super particular but... Need a witch’s help, and I was recommended this shop,” Riley mumbled before gesturing to the door. “What are you doing out alone this late? Not that I think you can’t protect yourself, but after everything, it’s like everyone’s partnering up.”

A bag of herbs underneath her arm Agnes crossed into the little street where most of the shops of Crescent Hill were located. The vampire was on her way home but she had one last errand to make. In front of the fortune teller’s place she saw a familiar figure and stopped, a few feet away. “Well, I know of a lot of people who close up on Mondays…”, she shrugged before giving him a smile, “I am sure you can find what you are looking for tomorrow though”
“I have work tomorrow and I was... Ugh, I was so stupid,” he admitted before turning from the store and leaning against its window. “Told my boss I could come in at a time I absolutely can’t come in, and now, I need her help so I can keep my job and that promise. Just, some of my coworkers have it rough right now, so I don’t want to call out.”
