A REGULAR DON QUIXOTE. that’s the first impression he had of the younger man; this was an individual who carried out his projects, no matter how lofty and impractical they were, by sheer force of will alone. there was determination in the other’s eyes and albert could see it, as plain as day. the kind of determination that led men to conquer whole cities and decimate entire legions in order to attain what they wanted…it was what he had done himself, over the years, and for that, he could regard his companion with a newfound sense of intrigue.
already, the wheels were turning in that well-oiled machine of a mind, and albert was coming to form a decision. you see, dr. wesker isn’t the type to mingle with someone for an extended period of time without some kind of motive in mind. it would be a waste of time after all, and so, he already has plans for one rafe adler.
❝ i can sense your admiration, and i do find myself flattered. ❞ a dangerous coo. ❝ and i will be honest, in that i was rather bored prior, until you made your presence known, mr. adler. ❞
saccharine venom, flattery would get him everywhere with this human.
SMILE REMAINING GENUINE, a rarity for him, he has no trouble ignoring the pang of self-loathing for allowing his admiration to be made obvious. rather than trying to piece together a refute, he only perks up at the mention of flattering; and even more so at the COMPLIMENT received ------ it was now his turn to be flattered.
❝ surely you can’t blame me for my admiration, dr. wesker. a man of your stature-- you’ve made quite the image for yourself. i’d be a liar if i was to say your achievements weren’t admirable. ❞ he mused; tone dropping an octave to emphasize his last word. ❝ --- i can assure you it’s a pleasure to have suppressed your boredom. i would suppose it’s my turn to say i’m flattered, yes? ❞
