Conceived in the Summer of early 2015, 'Come On, Feel The Come Down' was the first song written by Death Bells. Initial demos were recorded in bassist Aron Postolovic's bedroom, surrounded by faux flowers and garish pink walls. The song is a championing of 90s Australian pop rock articulated through 21st century adolescence. Maurice Santiago’s vocals harmonise with an anonymous guest female vocalist, comparing the feeling of unrequited love to coming up and coming down of stimulants. He says “as organisms who thrive off energy, our emotions are made up of nothing but chemical reactions with other people”.
Heaven's waiting, I can feel it, I'm the rose that would leave you nothing but thorns. So come on, and feel the come down Come on, feel the come down, You're the burning feeling in my veins, Addiction I can't kick and crave I feel you, crawling on my skin Feel the come down. Breathe me out, Let me in, From the bottom of your bath tub, Til when we're dancing, between stars. Well can you feel me, When I carve, My name into your arms. So come on, feel the come down, You're the burning feeling in my veins, Addiction I can't kick and crave, I feel you, crawling on my skin. Feel the come down. ~
