-------TW: HEAVILY IMPLIED DEATH|ANGST.-------
OC X CANON| NON-IMMORTAL!DEADPOOL.
Thursday, 12:05AM.| Wade should have been home by now. He said he would be, right? Its been hours since that fuckin' mission. Koa is anxious, practically popping springs in worry-- that is until the door opens. There he is, all bloodied and bruised but alive. Sure he'd regenerate after a while and he always did. It never failed to amaze her when he did. "Im home, claws." He called out weakly, as if he was loosing his life essence, infact-- he was. He wouldn't tell Koa that would he? No...why burden her with that? She'd be using all that wakandan tech to try and fix it. What ever that villian had done was really taking a toll on him though. Not that it was a problem- right? Never has been.
Koa rushed to his side, obviously worried by the turmoil that shook through her voice. "Are you ok? Ypu were gone for so long, you should have been back hours ago, wade!" She punched his arm harshly, but rubbed as a silent apology.
Wade was silent for a moment, simply admiring her for a second before he spoke. "Koa, i maye be dying." Koa? Not claws. Not kitty- koa. Hes never called her that, not unless he's pissed off or serious about something.
She laughed at first, the only 2 people capable of dying were her and logan but Logan wasn't here. So hes not relevant. Watching his eyes, she realizes just how serious he is.
He stumbled to the couch, the multiple gashes and deep cuts staining their couch but who cares? Wade was dying right in front of her and he was so casual about it.
"Wade, you're... you're joking right? Haha-- funny?" She was met with silence. Then, his hand met hers in a firm, yet gentle grip. "Wade...this isnt funny. Not at all, i dont like this."
Wade just let out a strained chuckle, pulling off his mask to reveal his scarred and mutilated face. A small smile on his bleeding lips. "you know, i thought I'd live forever. Its so much fun being able to spend time with you and Logan. Hell- its better than kicking ass all day. I mean- when we first met, you were a real pain in my ass. Not fun, not silly. More serious than Logan if I could say." He placed his hand on his stomach, his occupied hand running its thumb over her knuckles.
She teared up slightly, blinking them back of course. Who was she to cry infront of him? Or anyone? "Wade, stop fucking around damn it. You're not dying- you'll just regenerate as usual." She said loudly, as if trying to convince him..- or herself rather. It was to no avial, as she felt his grip loosening.
"You know i love ya, right claws?" *He looked down at her hands, before his eyes met hers. She hesitated, but nodded slowly. "Good. Good..cuz' if i didnt, i wouldn't be sitting here, dying in your hands."
She sniffles slightly, opening her mouth to speak but nothing came out. She was physically incapable of saying anything without breaking down and she knew that. So she silently slid next to him, burying herself into his side, wrapping her arms around him without a word. They didn't need words right now. They needed the comfort in these final moments- something that would end in less than a few minutes.
He tightened his grip around her, eyes filled with tears as small sobs racked his own slender body. He didnt have the heart to leave her, it would kill him. Not that he wasn't already dying at the moment...
She let out a choked sob, burying her face in his side as an attempt to hide it. As the minutes ticked by, his grip grew looser and looser. The life slowly draining from his face in little bits. It was uncanny to see him so quiet. The once loud mouthed, snarky, and silly mercenary now on his deathbed next to the woman of his dreams.
She knew no amount of science would save him. no matter how much she loved him, there was nothing that would change his fate. That would change this course of events. It was bound to happen, the universe planned this. Everything has a reason to happen right? But for Koa, it wasn't the right time. He didnt deserve to die- not now, but all she could do was sit with him. Comfort him through it, and let him know she was there and she wasnt leaving.
In the final moments, she felt his once labored and wheezy breathing falter to a halt. She blinked, jerking her head up to the now, pale skinned man. "...Wade?" She said softly. No answer. "Wade, get up, you're not dead yet." She sat up quickly, her hands cupping his face almost in a heartbeat. "Wade. Get up, this isnt funny." Tears began streaming down her dark-skinned face.
He was gone. And there was nothing she could do but cry. She begged, she pleaded, wept, and cried into him. Holding his lifeless body against her own. He was so...cold. it was a stark contrast to the warmth he always emmited both physically and emotionally. And now she was alone in a room with the man she couldn't even confess to. The man she longed for, the man she wanted to kiss and hold and..love.
That moment was over now. Her fear of rejection held her back and all she could do was sit in the dark living space with the shrill cold of someone she failed to protect. What a pity.
