MCR in the studio (According to Justin Hawkins)

JH: Weirdly I’ve been in the studio with them. They were working with Rob Cavallo on something, probably a follow up to the one about the parades. I was working with Rob Cavallo on other stuff and I just happen to be there and they were there. I really liked them. Nice people, actually. JH: They were all wearing tracksuits, all spotty just eating burgers all the time. I was like "F*ck how do you do that? How can you do that and look like that and-? Unbelievable!" And they said that while making an album they eat whatever they want, get f*cked up every day and then as soon as the album is in the can they only eat steamed vegetables, that's it, for the rest of the campaign until they start doing the shoots... The second part was from a conversation Justin Hawkins from The Darkness had with Luke Spiller from The Struts. They were talking about their eating habits and history with ED. This conversation took place a year prior to the first, but switching it made more sense. Hawkins mentioned that he met the MCR guys in a recent video and the story seems reliable enough as Mikey Way follows him and has shared his video to his Instagram story.

Hawkins mentioned he met them during their collaboration with Rob Cavallo as he himself was also working on various projects with Cavallo. Seeing as Hawkins' collaborations with Cavallo were in 2009-2010 and he has said himself it was around the time after “the one with the parades”, it is safe to say the album MCR was working on was Danger Days.

This hurts cause we all know about their struggle during that time.

By doing that it opens up the door that was closed before. I cant stand being stagnant, so I have to jump around … It's the same thing with opening up lyrically, at first you believe it's stupid to care that much and then you start to really care. You want it to be honest and true and good. When you're younger a line sounds cool but who cares what it means. Then you really want it to mean something, Then it gets to the point where you don't want it to mean too much, you don't want people to know too much about you - but eventually you get to the point where you realise, if I can't be honest, how can I expect anyone else to be honest.
