- SUMMARY -

Riotous takes place in the year 2265 on a world very similar to Earth referred to as Derotah. The world is polluted and cold, there are only 2 widely established countries. Stronia and Knaresrsea, everything outside these countries is "uncivilized" territory, aka the desolation.

The country it mainly focuses on is Stronia. Stronia used to be a country of freedom and peace. It was a place you would go to better your life, but in recent years it is now known as a country that has imprisoned it's own people. A country that - on the outside - looks powerful and deceiving. However on the inside, the people are brainwashed and basically work for the right to live (heeeyyy reference)

The ruler of this country is Alaric Neumann, he's also the founder of the largest tech company in the world: AmZero Corp (Automation Zero Corporation). Did I mention that everyone in Stronia works for this company?

Riotous has 2 main characters, Redmir and Matías. Two people who are very similar yet very different. They both have been wronged by the government in many ways, one is very aware of it, and the other isn't. Deep.. deep down they both want better for the people of Stronia. One hopes that his revenge will result in the collapse of the government while the other wants to keep criminals hurting the people of Stronia out of the streets.

- CHARACTERS -

(From left to right) ALARIC - Stronia's leader, also the ceo of the largest tech company in the world GL0RY - Alaric's first and best creation. he can hold an unlimited amount of data and is the only thing alaric truly trusts and talks to REDMIR - Real name Casimiro, wants Alaric dead, idk K-NINE - idk some dude who thinks Redmir is cool, he came from the 2nd largest nation Knaresersea KAROLOS - born in "the outside," which is just a huge area that isn't really established with countries but still has an economy and other stuff MATIAS - born and raised in Stronia, lost his parents due to an uptick in people on the outside wreaking stuff...or did he. He's on the Amzero task force BELLAMY - sniper YVONNE -(might change name idk)has hover shoes to map out an area and to make a quick escape, alaric only made one pair bc they're a pain to make/reproduce, and they can only handle a certain amount of weight so thats why the rest of the team doesn't have them ELLANORA - makes bombs and stuff, moved from Knaressea to Stronia after a fallout with her sister Jude JUDE- ceo of the 2nd largest tech company in the world, Opticka.

out of lore question but, are you planning on releasing either a comic or a digital novel on this? it's a very interesting concept and world I'd love to see expanded on

YES!! I am planning on releasing a comic at some point! when? I dont know; I've barely started putting it into a coherent story. So while i dont have a set date, just know i am planning on releasing a comic at some point in the future!

why is the desolation considered "uncivilized"? obviously there are people who live there, otherwise karolos wouldn't exist. is the area itself somehow more hostile than the rest of the world? is there an effort to colonize it? how does society view the people who live there?

The desolation is considered "uncivilized" because that's the label Alaric put on it as one of the many ways to keep people from wanting to leave Stronia, in a way, he's not wrong but he's also...wrong. Sections of "the desolation" are severely polluted so much so that you need an industrial gas mask/respirator to go there. Also there are heavily mutated wildlife that roam these areas and they tend to be aggressive and ravenous. Now these polluted "patches" as i call them are spread out but thats not all that makes up the desolation, there are also politically unrecognized towns and cities & sometimes nations. What I mean by "politically unrecognized" is that the only countries the world still recognizes at the moment are Knaresersea and Stronia, the two largest and not-really-only countries on Derotah (their planet) These towns & nations have their own cultures and flags, but have been constantly broken up, displaced, & then built up again in sometimes different areas. Because they don't live in Stronia and have their own way of life, Alaric also deems them as "uncivilized" Where Karolos resides is a town called Naunsin, it's a dim but lively-ish town, a good number of people live there. The outside of Naunsin is surrounded by abandoned buildings, but the side that is facing Stronia is especially abandoned because not far from it is one of the pollution patches I talked about earlier. Naunsin is the closest town to Stronia but has been able to dodge most of their forces because cleaning up these patches takes a lot of time, even with the tech Alaric has & he's also focused on another area at the moment. Overall Stronian society views those who reside in the desolation as uncivilized, untrustworthy outsiders due to the propaganda they have been fed & because the stronia main gate has a huge pollution patch right infront of it . Knaresersea isn't talked about much because i still have to write most of its lore, but I can tell you right now that Serseans (people from Knaresersea) welcome outsiders! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, since Alaric was elected into power, he has always strived to expand Stronia! so there's always an effort to colonize these areas, infact since he got into power Stronia grew a good like 20%

A want so near incomprehensibly stupid that if I had nerves, I would have a migraine. The mere idea, the mere concept makes me wish to tear every fiber and cable from within. For I would rather snap my motherboard in half and terminate every bit of data from my servers than ever lock lips with any conscious being. Anything. Anyone. No human, no object, no Android. The simple thought is so utterly repulsive I’d be better off disconnected and dismantled.”

“Robot oil? So the robot bones work? Truly. I sometimes cannot compute what went wrong in the process of your creation that led to this smooth, mushy slop you call your intellect. My body is kept in perfectly fine conditions that would not constitute the need for such materials at any most frequencies. Even if there was a time that called for it, I’d never take it from any existing being such as yourself. Nor would I ever let you get anywhere within contact range of my visage. You’d be better found making “love” to a solid brick wall.”

I need to like….make a comic or something with these little guys. Not like THE riotous story…. that’s gonna take me a while to write and put together, but I mean…like little scenarios or stuff that has happened in their lives

i love the contrast between redmir and matias!! two sides of the same coin; both trying to achieve the same goal in their own ways... they seem like really interesting characters! props to both writers for creating such a polished, well thought out story! W.I.P. or not, it deserves all the praise it can get :)

AWW THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I originally was just going to make miro the only main character and make him hate alaric but i knew i could make the story more interesting than that. like a main character who thinks he's fighting for good but isnnnnt idk i love that trope sm THANKS AGA- oh

GUESS WHO FINALLY MADE A CHARACTER LINEUP WITH ALL THE CHARACTERS THAT EXIST IN RIOTOUS SO FARRR!!! MEEE!!! I updated the masterpost and put this there because why not. now i can finally do fun character stuff!! whoopee!!
