If you really think about what Misha and Jensen said about how their characters feel about the whole situation, it makes rewatching all the destiel scenes a lot more romantic and heartbreaking. Like its actually sad. Dean thought Cas wasn't capable of loving and couldn't love Dean how Dean loved him because he was an angel and Cas thought Dean could never love him the way he loved him because he believes himself to be so unlovable. They could have had each other this entire time if they weren't so fucking stupid. They really spent the better part of 12 years pining for each other like they're in a fanfic instead of just talking to each other. I'm so sad for them. They're stupid but I'm sad for them.

Misha Collins did that!! He really walked right into Supernatural and auditioned for a throwaway part that was only supposed to last for 3 episodes, took one look at the script and said “this show is mine now, bitch. PS the angels gay now” he did that for us, folks

Goddammit do you know that it was THIS episode where I FIRST had the first TWINGES of curiosity towards Cas’s feelings for Dean. I NEVER saw this as him being into Anna. It was always “huh. Why is he looking like tha- wAIT A SEC”

It wasn’t until 6x20 that I actually shipped them (and considered Dean’s feelings to also be potentially romantic) but it was THIS moment that planted the seeds of Destiel into my brain, questioning why Cas reacted to the kiss that way, like he was curious? envious? Longing to be in her place?

It’s been 6 years since I first watched this show. I can’t believe we are finally here. That seed of Destiel was the right call. My God didn’t it grow into a forest!

Castiel was in love with him all along.

It won’t be long before Dean is finally able to show him how much he loves him back.
