how does someone just casually throw out that he knows for a damn fact that there is a higher power and that's technically his boss? technically, gabe wasn't really supposed to mention it β the divine, despite there being no official rule against it, it wasn't something he typically talked about. most couldn't handle knowing so he opted not to delve into all of it. even if he tried explaining, it wasn't something you could just..understand. "hm?" gabe questions, turning to look at hazel. he admired how curious she was. he liked answering any and all questions she had, helping her learn and understand just how the world worked. hell, gabe just liked talking to her in general. liked being in her orbit. "i mean..i think that's up for interpretation, isn't it? i think most view whatever higher power up there as someone who..wants to see the best in people." god, it was cheesy and pretty fucking lame, gabe having to explain all of this like he doesn't live it every day. he leans closer to where she sat. "no matter..what kind of fucked up shit you've done, they'll still view you as someone worth loving, you know?" that's what he likes to believe, at least. especially when it comes to her.

"right, investigating, how could i ever get that wrong?" gabe nodded, watching declan intently. he admired how curious he was, because gabe could never really feel that way about things anymore. he knew enough to not feel the need to be curious. so he lived through others, especially declan. "that's where the embalming liquid goes," he picks up one of the tubes. "it flows through this and into the body and replaces blood." there's such a warmth surrounding declan that it feels intoxicating to gabe, that he doesn't think he could ever get tired of being in his space. his orbit. it was a feeling that he wasn't used to, but a feeling he didn't exactly hate. there was so much darkness that surrounded him constantly, it was nice having someone who was the complete opposite. he's not sure what he'd do without declan. maybe go back to his usual solitary existence. he didn't like that idea. laughter spills from gabe when declan mentions nothing sad. "what exactly do you think i eat? and what could possibly be sad?" @wildflowcrandbarley

there was something..electric about the person standing in front of him, it almost felt otherworldly. through out his years on earth, gabe came across a lot of things, some he could explain and some that he couldn't. it'd been a while since he came across the latter but today seemed to be that day. curiosity was radiation off of him like a damn heater, and gabe followed his eyes behind him which were looking right at the door he'd just come out of. the door downstairs to where gabe spent most of his time while he was here. "something or someone came through here, huh?" there was a coy grin that formed on gabe's lips. gabe could tell he was here for a purpose, but that purpose he didn't know and he wasn't entirely sure the other would tell him anyways. "a lot of someone's come through here. i consider it my job to help them with where they need to go." it's a vague statement, because it's not entirely false. most of the people and souls that come through the morgue are led by gabe's own hand. while this isn't a gateway to wherever they go, gabe likes it to be their first stop. leaning against his counter, he brings his eyes back to the man's face. "yeah, i work here." he extends a hand. "name's gabe. you are?" @aperturcs
