this is mat whenever an opportunity to talk about lolly comes up
like how much must he talk about her do you think
this is mat whenever an opportunity to talk about lolly comes up
Finally complete :’)
(There’s an Easter egg in each portrait ;))
in my mind when mike reaches the end of his life his final wish is to die in button house so that the moment his soul departs his body he can get one good look at all the ghosts and go "ahh, so that's what you all look like. hey guys" [WHOOSH]
me personally i love the almost-canon fact that thomas brought his unfortunate demise upon himself by being a dick to his cousin. i simply cannot find it sad or emotional for this reason like he really is just my clown
this chaotic part of the last inside ghosts episode is so funny that i had to make it into a video
this is so kitty and thomas. if they ever got together thomas would be like "Dear Katherine, wilt thou consent to becoming my closest companion not only in this eternal afterlife, but in all things?" and kitty would be like "Oh Thomas... yes of course!" and thomas would be like "Splendid! My heart, having so long lain still and unbeating, soars with the birds on this most luminous of days!" and kitty would be like "So what shall we do first?" and thomas would be like (not having the foggiest)🧍 Erm...
ok one more thing re: the baby plot in ghosts s5. it feels like a natural conclusion to me because not only did they foreshadow it in s4 when mary moved on, but that episode was also all about the inexorable cycle of life and death and new life. baby mia is just a part of that - a reminder that even in this house full of death there will always be new life and life is beautiful so you have to nurture it.
also, so many of the ghosts felt neglected or lonely in life. if alison had to raise her child as well as constantly worry about finances/the house AND deal with 7 permanent houseguests all the time, who's to say mia wouldn't grow up feeling neglected too?? and idk about you but in my opinion none of the ghosts would ever let themselves be the reason for that
mat baynton and jim howick explicitly saying in this podcast episode that the ghosts have changed enough that they can welcome the idea of a hotel and be interested in the goings-on and that they want the viewers to know that they "haven't left them unhappy" YES EXACTLY... all i can do is smile thinking about what they'll get up to with all the new changes
mat's (?) lady button impression is making me go crazy
transcript under cut
Yes, if Peter Parker had just gone to sleep and died instead of becoming Spider-Man.
alright i will try to stop talking about the ghosts finale soon but personally i'm okay with alison and mike deciding to leave despite deciding against it in the previous episode because they didn't have a baby then and now they do. no matter how much you try to prepare for it a baby changes you and your life irrevocably. like you'll never go back to the way things were. so it makes sense to me that after experiencing the reality of it (and the reality of constantly having other family around w/ mike's mom) they would change their minds
and yes i cried bad but thematically it tracks because the ghosts really truly are family now and being family means loving someone enough to be apart from them. parents, children, siblings, cousins, aunts uncles grandparents... the bittersweet thing about tight-knit family is that nobody is closer to you in the whole world and that's exactly why you have to learn to be apart from them. because if you really love each other you know that time and distance won't change that closeness. and you all need space to grow on your own too
