Besides the obvious  bias as to bracelets besides WWJD oppression these uniform guidelines completely oppress anyone who wants to be outside the range of these rules. You cant say you didn't know that your bracelet wasn't allowed because there is only one allowed. Your hair(for boys) cant grow any further than they say and must be “neat and clean”, despite any circumstances, at all times. Like it says they they tell you what too wear and how to wear it.

One type of

language/writing I found to be enslaving is music lyrics. The lyrics are specifically enslaving to females which paints them as sexual objects. I’ve never thought about lyrics as “enslaving” before the conversation in class, in the past I’ve thought they were disrespectful and rude but not enslaving. They can be viewed as enslaving because it is placing labels, and stereotypes on the female listeners. Every time the radio is turned on you hear enslaving lyrics,

I’m really glad you brought this song up. The lyrics ARE SO WRONG ON SO MANY LEVELS. The fact that she’s a stripper is 1. a problem in the first place and 2. his “support” should not be directed to her being a stripper, it should be aimed towards helping her get a decent job where she doesn’t have to entertainment perverted men. I don’t know what planet the MEN who wrote this song came from but if this song is NOT liberating towards women, it’s justing bring us down even more. Conquered

When I think of being conquered, I think of school. I don't even know why. But I think it's because in school, in math, i'm always conquered. Even if I get the answer right I get 100% on the homework, I never fully get it and it always has me second-guessing. I get more wrong and I get right. And at some point I was like well maybe if I just actually study and actually understand it I'll be good. First day of algebra two, we went over this new thing that was fairly easy. I had it, at least I thought I had it. The next day I was actually kind of excited, it was funny really I couldn't wait to get to Math just to show that I know it for the first time. Of course this is the kind of teacher that likes giving quizzes for fun. I really didn't care because I was ready. He passed out the quiz and I finished in less than five minutes. Everyone finished pretty quick, like I said easy quiz. We passed him around and he began to read the answers, and I watch slowly as I got every single one wrong. This didn't make sense to me, I had studied and studied it and legit thought I knew it. Turns out I mixed up what was what on the quiz, my mindset was wow literally can't do anything right in this class no matter how hard I try or don't try. There's only one way for me in this class and it's failing.

All my life I've been waiting for high school. I couldn't wait to drive, I couldn't wait to have my own locker, I couldn't wait to be on the schedule that I had picked, I couldn't wait for that independence. Elementary was boring and way too small. Nothing was ever really mine we shared everything is a class. I couldn't wait to be alone. Middle school was annoying, it was like dangling something in front of my face but never really getting a chance to get it,there was different classes but it wasn't picked for you. They told you what you going to learn. And finally getting the high school freshman year it was great I could do it ever I want and it almost felt like no one cared. It was all up to me I got to pick and choose what I wanted to learn. I was completely and utterly alone in my decisions. And that's when it got dark. I began to want someone to help me make decisions, to help me know what I should know for what I want to do. And just as they all started to disappear I Began to want to be able to share with people again like talking and just being friendly. High school is never what I thought I wanted. It's not at all as free and desirable as it seems, before you get there.

I was in middle school when the thought of me being gods gift to human beings first dawned on me. I was walking down the hall and I will stop at least four times for someone to say hi to me, that same day in the lunch room someone told me I was the funniest person they know. It was kind of funny at first and then my head got real big. To top it all off and art that very same day my teacher told me I was going to be famous someday. You can believe me or not but all I know is, that day my epiphany was that I was a walking trophy. I got home and didn't do any homework because why would I? why should I? The only thing that whatever matter was the fact that I was God's gift to human beings. This epiphany have any blind for about two years. Sometimes the thought creeps back up and to be honest it's always in the back of my head. Maybe that is kinda cocky but to me it's just kind of funny.

But really to me it you've reached a point in being yourself that its not acting to be anyone you just simply are. Its not me acting like myself its be being myself. Secondary Source While my days are usually filled with trap music and Meek Mill, this song in particular relates to every day life of everyone at some point. It talks about how you’re at your wits end and how there’s nothing really else you have left in you. But if you notice it never says “God will help”, “God is all you need”. It says things like “let me see redemption win” and ” I wanna know a song can rise, from the ashes of a broken life”. And although this band is openly Christian I believe they’re speaking to anyone and everyone when it comes to hope. Every human being need something to look towards they need something that can get them up and going whether it’s faith or family or friends it’s all a sense of a strong confidence that you’ll get through something, or something will happen, and not something in particular, just something that means you’re moving and you can keep going. Looking at this picture you see a clear deception of the mind. The picture may seem a bit extreme but I think its true in many cases. Emotions such as love and ones heart can deceive the mind to believe it is in love as well as the partner even though the partner’s actions prove otherwise.

In my secondary source Ethics and Self Deception Jean-Paul Sartre (French Philosopher) presents this idea and “role play” in the condition of bad faith (describes the phenomenon where a human being under pressure from societal forces adopts false values and disowns their innate freedom to act authentically)

Sartre tells us that the woman is aware of her companion’s romantic interest in her. However, she is at the same time undecided about her own feelings for him, and so neither accepts nor rejects his advances wholeheartedly. She enjoys the anxious uncertainty of the moment, and tries to maintain it through her ambivalent response to his attempted seduction of her (1956, p. 55). Suddenly, though, the woman’s companion reaches for her hand, and with this gesture “risks” forcing her to commit herself one way or another (p. 56):

Secondary Source I just wanted some of the people who have hope or things similar to it for an abstract topic to let me know how they feel about his video, I mean they asked people what hope is in most of the answers were; an ideal toward something or looking forward to something that's against the odds just believing in something. But then the man comes in and says that's shallow or self-centered but then he lists the reasons why believing in God and trusting in God is true hope. If you really listen to his word usage he sounds the same as all the people on the street having an expectation and being confident in it, he said the same thing as everyone on the street. I think because they didn't have one thing that one common theme of God, it could be seen as self-centered or shallow. But if you really think about it it's the same thing whether your atheist or Christian having hope doesn't mean having religion. Hope is not a person is someone or something that a person needs to go off of in confidence?

It just means self-deception could also come from not being able to handle the pressure of somebody else's ideas... Like if someone said the sky was blue and you said it was red but they made a pretty convincing argument and you start doubting yourself, "maybe the skies red?" It's kind a like the self-confidence thing all over again.

I love these quotes especially because they can relate back to my book as well. See in my book the woman is bound to die, it's inevitable, but that doesn't mean there's no hope left in the book because as the book goes on you see the friendship get stronger and stronger and mean more even though she supposed to die. It's not about her living happily ever after it's about knowing something good can come out of it. I believe humans need that something in anything. Nice job. $_$
