Beta timeline this mirrorverse that, you may have seen me throw around those titles before. Figured since I’ve done so much with them lately I’d do a little thread explaining what they are.
I’ve always been fond of aus, I love exploring my characters outside of what they are familiar with, putting them in different environments and circumstances to see how it would change their characters. Two aus I’d actually consider somewhat canon are mirrorverse and betatimeline
What makes mirrorverse canon is that you the mirrorverse exists as a reflection of the main/true timeline. Characters are meant to be inverted reflections of themselves. The once cocky and egotistical all fun Mr. S becomes the no nonsense all business serious Mr. O and so on.
The mirrorverse also takes place in a post apocalyptic setting, where most other guardians have turned into mind controlled “zombies” and it mostly focuses on the main cast with a handful of others yet to have been turned. Unlike the main verse the friend group is pretty strained
Beta timeline is also a post apocalyptic setting where beta Spencer has “won” and the group has been split up in one way or another, most guardians being marmalized. It is believed that the beta timeline was never supposed to actually happen, and came to existence by accident.
The beta timeline exists parallel to the main timeline, a potential that could have happened if the worst case scenario happened. While the mirrorverse is a bit different. It is a product of the main verse, it’s very reflection, and both verses cannot exists without the other.
The way these three worlds connect is interesting. It’s a bit of a spoiler but there is one character that exists in all of them as themselves, they have no counterpart because there power is to dimension hop. (Spoilers it’s not Erica! Erica has counterparts)
The main timeline does cross between these two different worlds at points, the main cast facing their doppelgängers. They all learn these other selves are just as similar as they are different, deep down.
If I had to explain each three worlds as simply as possible….
Main timeline: A misfit group of hero’s saves an unaware world from extraterrestrial evils, all while discovering more about themselves and learning to heal from hardships.
Mirrorverse: A misfit group of hero’s tries to save the world from a shadow zombie apocalypse, all while discovering more about themselves and learning to heal from hardships.
Beta Timeline: A misfit group of hero’s tries to save the world from a mind controlling mastermind, all while discovering more about themselves and learning to health from hardships.
