Time feels very fake at the moment. I think it’s because, at the height of summer in my part of the south, it’s misery to be outside for more than a few minutes at a time, and without being out in the sun and in nature, my days start to blur together. I think I might need to incorporate more time outside in the evenings to keep me grounded.

Had one of those days where everything my coworkers do is grating, but I managed to shake the bad mood and have a nice evening with my partner. Still having a lot of whiny inner resistance when it comes to the 15-minute tidy. Not sure if it’s because I do it at a slightly different time every day? But it’s taking a long time to habituate to, it seems.
I am doing really well at sticking to my app limits, though! And I started to pick my face but caught myself and pulled back despite some really strong compulsions, so I’m calling that a victory.

Had another day of celebratory eating, but I can’t feel bad. Celebrations are to be savored! The 15-minute tidy still somehow feels so tedious, but I am doing better at remembering it without prompting.

Friday was a wonderful night out with friends, but I was out far too late to get much of anything done, including posting about it, and Saturday I just frankly didn’t feel like it. I’m still keeping up with my goals, but now that I have my journal for personal accountability, I feel myself sliding off the desire to post here as well.
I think some of that feeling does just come, honestly, from feeling quite boring. My goals are important to me, yes, but my day-to-day life is mundane. I guess I just haven’t felt like I had much to post about lately except for inertia. But I’m going to stick with it as long as it feels useful to me, and it still does. Having the external accountability is an extra motivator when I find myself considering just not doing it today.

Got some kind of stressful family news, but coping okay. I did also manage to do some light strength training today, and that felt nice. I just keep getting to bedtime and being too tired to write more. Oh, well. My energy will return.

My mood was up and down today, and so was my energy. Feeling a bit of whiplash. I’ve started using a mood/hunger/energy tracker, so hopefully if there’s any trends I can look out for, I’ll see them.

Too late for a longer entry, but I had a good day. The 15 minute tidy is still feeling like a chore and hasn’t yet become habit, but otherwise I felt good and got everything done early.

We’re at 15%! I finally feel like things are really starting to gather steam. Plus, I splurged and got myself a new planner, and I already love it.
Almost forgot to spend time outside, then begrudgingly hauled my ass onto the back porch to do my time. But as always, spending time outside with blue sky and green trees immediately improved my mood. I just sat and observed the pepper plants budding, listened to the katydids, and watched the sky slowly turn lilac. I remembered that summer doesn’t last forever and felt glad for the sun and the warmth.
Stepped on the scale for the first time in a couple weeks and found that, much to my surprise, I’m down a few more pounds, putting me at 30lbs down since I started working on my weight in March. And I noticed today that my quad muscles are starting to show some visible definition, which is really cool. This week my slow re-integration of weight training begins, and I mean s l o w. I’m still having a weird issue with my shoulder that I refuse to let grow into a full-blown injury, so we’re not gonna stress it.

Got a TON of planning, organizing, and journal set up done today. It felt really good to get all the stuff that’s been rattling around in my brain for weeks down on paper and in an order that feels manageable.
Also, I got to wash my hair today! I am so happy with how the perm came out. I realize this is a very grass-is-always-greener thing, but as someone with stick straight, fine hair, I’ve always wanted curls. Strangely, I feel more like myself now.

A short entry against today! Nearly forgot to do my 15 minute tidy but resisted the urge to ignore it. Unfortunately, I also broke what had been a really good streak of not bothering my face. I still need to find strategies for catching and redirecting that impulse.
Tomorrow I wash my perm for the first time. Wish me luck!

It’s officially the 10% mark! It’s crazy how fast the time goes. But I am slowly seeing some progress. I remembered to do my 15 minute tidy early and I’ve been doing a really good job of leaving my face alone. Also I got a perm! Unfortunately that means I really can’t work out for a couple of days since I really can’t afford to sweat anymore than I have to until I can wash my hair on Saturday. So in the meantime, I’m gonna make sure to stretch each night.

Had a good day. Did a bunch of planning for goals I want to accomplish in the future, and I’m getting more excited about using my journals to help me keep track of things. Also, I realized while using the tidy-up timer today that part of the reason I don’t often remember to do a quick evening clean up is that I’m so distractible. I’m home, I’m seeing my partner for the first time that day, he’s usually cooking. We start chatting, and I completely forget. But having the timer helped keep me on task.
