Hnnnmmnghhhh
happy pride month from your favourite rivals!
He’s unworthy because he sucks at pulling out “swords”
Same here, good god
This is now twice i have dropped Marvel Rivals, only to be pulled back in by a sickass teaser involving incredibly gutteral screams.
What can I say, I know what i like
Both redheads too, I fear you have a type
I like the dynamic between Blade and Morbius but I think it’d be infinitely funnier if their attitudes towards each other was one sided as hell
Imagine Blade just not giving a shit about Morbius existing. “You really turned yourself into a not-a-vampire on accident?? This weird as hell fuck ts” meanwhile Morbius is obsessed for some reason, whether it be for scientific reasons or that one time he bit Blade and it tasted good (<— not canon, his blood allegedly tastes like shit to Morbius, which I never really got since he’s not really a vampire)
DAMN BRO DID YOU EVEN TAKE A BREATH FIRST
Poollock (Adam/Deadpool) Pitch
Figured I'd share my view on this lil ship of mine, possibly get it out of crackship territory
I would like to start by saying i am no expert in either character's history and my knowledge doesnt extend past rivals characterization and events that I deemed relevant towards my case so if thats a dealbreaker i understand
But ignoring that, even without the idea of a romantic relationship in mind, I think they'd be an interesting duo! I like their parallels ("Perfect Human"/ Arguably the worst one, ...Marvel jesus duo, their connection between life and death) and I honestly think a neat friendship could come of them if they make it through a few hurdles:
Difference in location/setting
Easiest complication to fix; its deadpool. He could be anywhere, anytime, any reason. Doesn't even have to make sense, writers pull the "oh yeah and deadpool's here too!"all the time so its not even out of character. However, if i were to give a solid reason for why they'd even be near each other outside of rivals lore... Deadpool has shown interest in becoming a better person, to little sucess. hes's tried hanging around the best person he knew (spiderman) and that sorta went well but he didn't actually change much, he just does what he does with a little less murder. He's also gone to rock bottom in his relationship with death, which is a whole 'nother can of worms (Does she like him? Are they both obsessed with each other because they cannot truly HAVE each other? Oh deathpool, how i can never form a proper opinion about you). What if, after those failed attempts, he went higher? He hears about this "perfect human" and decides its time for a space adventure. BAM problem solved.
Ideals/Lack of them
At first i was willing to brush aside the whole "deadpool kills people and adams whole job is to stop that from happening (avatar of life, hellloooo)" because Adam's friends with the guardians, (rocket and groot used to be bounty hunters and other illegal occupations, of course theyve killed people) hes's had a romantic relationship with gamora (assasssin) and is on speaking terms with Thanos. Thats AFTER the whole gauntlet debacle, and we all know what he did. But the thing is, Those people have been "redeemed" so to say, as in they dont do that anymore unless necessary. Deadpool will not stop killing people. Thats just a fact. Why he does kill depends on his state of mind but if deadpool is involved, there will be needless casualties. I think thats the only significant thing that would make adam keep wade at a distance and i havent found a wat to counteract that, so sadly, I'm gonna pull a classic shipper move and ignore it until i can find a reasonable way.
I'll try and get into their hypothetical relationship now. I started shipping them in the first place because in their one, singualar, map specific, pre match piece of dialouge, Adam had one of the rare interactions where he didn't insult wade or try and dissassociate from him after wade spouts some of his signature bs. Kind of reminded me of cable, that being one of the reasons they get along in the first place, so i found that neat. Wade also cat calls Adam after seeing him KO somebody ("Perfect man, huh? I'm intrigued") Give me the bare minimum and and i'll take it wayy too far.
Adam does his best to see the good in people, and help them become better. At first, He'd probably think deadpool is an open and shut case, but deadpool is interesting, to say the least. There are things deadpool does that are undeniably good and then he goes and bombs a block or something similar. It's his "job," sure, but half of the time he doesn't care about the money. He's good at killing, but he hates it. But he also likes it, but he also wants to be good- you get my point. I think he'd interest him enough to go out of his way to try and understand wade, rather than writing him off as just an insane guy. Of course, he'd come to the conclusion that Wade can't really change in the way he wants to, but at that point, I believe he'd be too far in to just abandon ship and go "yeah sorry cant do anything for you, bye." In fact, In a weird convuluted way, i think he'd relate. In my interpretation at least
Adam's goal to help people become better has led to some properly weird stuff, like the magus and the goddess thing. Magus is either portrayed as Adam's future or his "evil" side, and he does everything in his power to avoid that side of him. You'd think the goddess would be a better role model, being the pure and good side of him, but she tried to blow the universe up to "get rid of all sin," and thats pretty bad. Although these things happened for their respective reasons, it does show that the best Adam is how he is now, and its probably for the best. Even with its lows and highs, this is how he exists. I'd like to reference this post as it sort of ties into this as well. Maybe deadpool can confide in that shared fate? Ish?
Either way, thats my view on them lorewise. In terms of a romantic relationship...I think it's funny that deadpool doesnt really deserve anything good, but he'd have the perfect guy interested in him. Like, interested enough to seek him out even just to speak with him about philosophy or other interests of his just see what Wade thinks of it. Or just to spend time with him. I also like Adam's stoic kindness vs Wade's chaotic whatever tf.
Sorry if this came across as ranty oir unorganized, but I hope you guys like this!
