Bella Swan was clearly mistreated for most of her childhood and no one seems to care?
She had an immature mother who didn't really take care of her so she had to teach herself how to take care of both of them? Who do you think taught a young teen how to balance a checkbook/prepare most meals/grocery shop etc?
She knew lots of practical skills that most people don't learn until they leave college, and its probably because she had to. She cooks all the time because growing up if she didn't cook she didn't get dinner!
She was so self sacrificing that she put her mother's happiness above her own so to not inconvenience her! A young girl completely took herself away from everything she loves and knows just so the most important person in her life didn't have to be held back by her. How fucking sad is that?
She never had hobbies/friends because she had to spend so much time being an adult. She literally says in the first chapter and people just kind of shrug her off.
She literally gets tears in her eyes when Charlie puts snow chains on her tires for her because no one has ever gone out of their way for her ever.
Even Charlie, God bless him, isn't much of a father because he never got the chance because Renee literally stole his kid and never let him develop any parental skills.
She calls her parents by their first names because she's so devorced from any kind of parental feelings towards them.
She throws herself into her relationship with Edward so hard because literally no one has shown any regard for her happiness and safety before, and I'm sure that felt pretty amazing?
And their attraction kind of makes sense because they're both adults stuck in fucking high school with a bunch of children who have no idea the kind of burden they have to bare.
Everyone talks about how she's a "Mary Su" who's plain and needy but like??.? No? Do you know almost any "normal" teens who do that stuff? Just saying
