     “Looking like and wanting are different. But no--you don’t have to talk anyway.” When she tried hard enough she could block out people’s thoughts, but she was usually to focused doing that with Simon and Kaylee to bother with anyone else. She didn’t like hearing their thoughts in the least, she didn’t need to know those kinds of private things about her brother.

     “Kaylee needed to get parts, he went to help her carry them back.“ River explained before telling her. “Need to get you to the medical room, Simon has pain medicine and things that stop swelling. He can do something for your eye, when he’s back. She thinks.”

      The sound of her voice nearly made him jump out of his skin. How did she do that? The creepy sneaking thing? He probably should have been used to it by now, but… apparently he wasn’t. Recovering quickly, he flashed her a smile and spun his chair in her direction. “Dinosaur man… That’s a new one! I’ll take it,” he said with a chuckle. “Next stop’s Greenleaf. How’s that sound to you?”

    The Reader tilted her head slightly as she thought before saying. “Lot’s of tree’s to climb, and plants that can help Simon. Good planet, it can be both fun and helpful if we don’t have a job that makes us have to leave very quickly. Since landing is a bit restricted I conclude Inara got us permission to land." She knew quite a bit about Greenleaf, having been thinking about going into pharmaceutical studies to follow Simon into the medical field before leaving for The Academy.

“Gorrammit, I swear, River is gonna drive me insane.” Mal cursed to himself, having to deal with the onboard “witch” and her imaginative musings.

     River peaked her head around a corner to the Kitchen, a smile on her face. "Can the Capt'in not handle the Albatross anymore?" She was messing with him, like she was playing a game. That much was obvious.

“Am not!” Violet ran over to where her aunt was hiding. “I see you lots now!” She weaved her way through the crates hoping to get to River before she moved. Violet was glad Aunt River could play with her today. It seemed like her parents were busy with something but she didn’t mind now.

     The Reader got up the rest of the way and made a run for it, though in all honesty she wasn't really making a real attempt at getting away and so soon enough Violet caught up to her. "Back fowl beast--!" She joked, as she held her hands up in front of her. She loved times like this, it reminded her of when she and Simon used to play back on Osiris when they were little.

     “Liar!” River said before peaking her head up from behind the crate she was behind and looking at her Niece. “I see you though!“ It'd been a long time since Simon had rescued her, and a long time since Miranda. River was a lot better, and she was happy about that--and happy to play with her Niece so Kaylee and Simon could have some time alone.

     “Well my good friends, most of my friends, have special abilities. Others spent many years training and do the superhero gig without powers. So yeah, I know quite a few people you may consider weird like yourself.” Garfield commented with a shrug. “Remind me of who exactly Simon is.”

     “Brother; he helps me get better, but he say’s I shouldn’t wander encase something happens.“ She said making a face before saying. “Doesn’t understand that it get’s crowded, people don’t realize how loud they are. Your loud to--” She told him, tapping the side of her head lightly. “Most people don’t even know how loud they are.” She didn’t try to peak into peoples heads, but she couldn’t exactly control it; especially when they thought so loud. Even if she was getting better.

     River made her way onto the bridge, bare feet stepping silently as she walked up behind the Pilot. “Where we heading dinosaur man?” She asked, before going over and taking a seat in the Co-Pilot chair and spinning it around to face him.

Seeing the excitement in her eyes warmed his heart. “I’ll go to the engine room and see if Kaylee will give us what we need to fix your bear up.” He rubs her back gently. “You should go over to Inara’s shuttle. She’ll be more than happy to help.” Simon smiles at his precious sister. “We will fix it.”

     River smiled at Simon, they’d been through a lot since they had boarded Serenity. They had learned and seen terrible things when they discovered Miranda, but everyone had come out stronger because of it in the end. “Thank you Simon.” She said before lightly running off towards Inara’s shuttle, a smile on her face. Though she wasn’t just referring to him helping her fix the Bear

Headcanon: #1 -- After Miranda

     Even though River is much better after the Miranda incident, she will still sometimes fall back into her old speech patterns and mannerisms. She never really has episodes like before, having control over her actions. But at times she will fall into small depressions and spend most of her time in her bunk, and when not in her bunk during these time she can often be found laying or sitting in the higher, more dangerous for normal people parts of the cargo bay.

     “No, not fine.“ River insisted, Simon wasn’t there though, but River had watched him patch up the others plenty of times. She definitely couldn’t get Vera back in perfect shape but. “--She can help. Watched Simon plenty, wont be perfect but enough until he’s back.”

     River reached up to her own nose and pinched the it on either side by where the eyes were. “Like this, will stop blood from leaking.”
