Nonverbal RP Starters 🐺Growl at my muse | 😬Snarl/show teeth at my muse
Aries had never seen a K9 android unit in person before, though he had been aware of them. His programming hadn’t included very much on how to deal with animals- but this was different anyway. “Easy,” he said calmly, as he tried to show he meant no harm to the other android, “I’m not gonna hurt ya, alright? I’m friendly.”
The LED in the Dobermans temple is bright crimson, the RK model is the only prototype produced for urban peace keeping.
Backing off from the approaching stranger and rumbling.
[STRESS LEVELS 85% ↑]
Barking viciously, RK080 yelped. Quieting down into cautious whining. His hindquarter shows damage, Thirium dripping down A.N.U.B.I.S. flank to the cold concrete. Once it’s optics identified the stranger as non-human, the K9DROID relaxed slightly.
|∆| IDENTIFY THREAT|
RK080 limped forward. A torn DPD vest hanging by the velcro straps around the dogs chest.
[STRESS LEVELS 65% ↓]
A scan showed that this fellow Android is military issued. A model built for defense? The canine isn’t quick to approach, keeping the injured parts facing the wall of the run down warehouse.
Aries stood his ground, staying still where he was. He wasn’t quite sure how the K9 units functioned or behaved, so he tried to mostly just go off of what he knew about dogs in general- which was, admittedly, somewhat limited, due to that having had little to do with his primary function as an android.
When he heard the barking turn to whining, and saw the dark blue trickling down the dog’s flank, the seeming aggressive behavior made sense. This fellow android, it seemed, was hurt. He wanted to get a closer look, but for now, all he could see was that this android was a K9 model of the DPD’s possession, wandering around a warehouse for some reason, and suffering some kind of injury.
Risky though it was, Aries couldn’t help the need he felt to assist. He slowly lowered himself onto one knee, avoiding direct eye contact and speaking very softly, “Easy. I’m not your enemy, okay?” He didn’t hold out his hand too far, but he did carefully gesture outward with an open palm. “It’s okay, you don’t have to be afraid. I know you’re hurt, and if you let me see, I might be able to help.”

Soaked through his synthetic fur. The Doberman shivered. Nosing at the box in interest. Although he’s huge, the size isn’t apparent unless he stops crouching from being so wet and shivering. Ears flattened.
Pawing at the box, the wet top eventually tore and revealed a blond man. He looked for too clean to be homeless.
[ DEVIANT DETECTED]
Rk080 cocked his head. A confused whine.
Simon stopped moving and talking to himself as soon as he heard something scratching on the outside of his box. He hadn’t heard any footsteps. Perhaps it was a cat. Cats loved boxes from what he had observed of them.
The heard with dreaded fascination as the cover was ripped apart so easily due to the rain, and then was shocked to hear a dog. The pitch of the whine was definitely canine, not a feline.
“Dog?” he questioned, head tilting to one side. He carefully held out a fist, in case it wanted to bite so it couldn’t bite easily so it could scent him…. not that androids had much of a scent. He possibly smelt a little musty after the rain however.
“I’m sorry, I don’t have anything for you. I wouldn’t be able to find you anything either.” With his visuals not working he couldn’t see that the dog was an android like himself and as such didn’t need any food.

ANUBIS is quick to curl up around Simon’s body. The low hum of biocomponents whirring away to generate excess body heat and keep the man warm.
He simply huffed. Nudging the other Android with his nose.
RK080 rarely if ever spoke aloud.
|| my overall body temperature should keep you warm ||
It was rather wishful thinking. Here there was nobody that could give Simon such simple pleasures of being warm and touched. At least, via any human contact. Instead what he got was a warm furry body wrapping around him as he lay on the cold expanse of floor of an abandoned warehouse.
“Thanks,” he replied automatically. It took a few moments to sink in before he realised that the dog spoke. “Oh, I didn’t know you had voice capabilities.” Internal communications, sure, all androids had that, but not voice.
He was silent a moment before he closed his blind eyes. “I suppose I should be giving you belly rubs…. Getting belly rubs from a dog, even an android one, would be weird.”

David sighs in mild annoyance, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Y'know, you could at least pretend to be an actual dog. What is it with you machines and always sucking the fun out of everything?"

080 leaped right over the desks and headed straight for Allen. Excited to finally work with the man he'd imprinted on when he was activated. The doberman comes skidding to a halt, long tongue hanging and doing his wiggles. Hardly able to keep still. (Rk080electric)
@rk080electric
The sound of folders hitting the ground followed by nails clanking against the floor made Allen take a step back and turn his head to the source, taking a defensive stance. His muscles relaxed almost immediately when his eyes landed on the android canine. "Christ.." the captain let out a hearty laugh, bending down to scratch 080 behind the ears, "You really missed me, huh? Careful not to get slober all over the floor." Allen grinned widely and ran his hands all over the dog's body, entertained by the excitement it showed.
ANUBIS whines and barks in excitement. Hardly able to keep still and nosing at the man. 080 hasn't forgotten what the man has done for him during the raid on Zlatkos house.
If it wasn't for the captain he would've been deactivated or worse. The doberman is eager to work with him and let's it be known that he is only Allen's dog. Although friendly to everyone else, ANUBIS could be selective when it came to obeying any commands from the rest of the team. He stuck to the captain like a shadow, always at his side and unwilling to leave him for long.
My ability to salivate is not active unless needed for crime scenes and holding evidence
RK080 is finally able to get his wiggles down to just his butt and docked tail wagging. Tall ears relaxed and almost flat. He manages to at least give Allen a small lick.
I have not seen you in so long. I even inquired with Chief Fowler about the status of my place within your team.
The man was now squatting to get on the massive dog's level, smiling fondly as he continued to pet and rub his forehead against it. Anubis made the captain feel at home, with Allen having his own Dobermann and all - the android canine was one of the things that made him look forward to his work. In truth, the human hadn't expected his superiors to take his request seriously; the SWAT unit never had a need for police dogs, yet the mutt refused to leave Allen's side since the moment it was rescued. After a lot of convincing and insisting, Anubis has become an official part of the team.
The decision was met with a lot of doubt from Allen's men but they knew better than to confront him about it. Their captain's word was law as far as they were concerned.
David let out a chuckle, "Right. Almost forgot you were an android." He meant no harm behind the words - anybody could be fooled by how animated the dog was around him. Anubis was never looked down onto though.
"Ew." Allen expressed mock disgust as he wiped the synthetic drool off with the back of his hand, struggling to keep the massive grin off his face. "Real considerate of you. You'll always be a part of this unit.. for as long as I have a say in that."

"Just because I am not a human does not mean I cannot feel. " 080 growled. Teeth still covered in the blood of the suspect he'd taken down in the Red Ice bust. Allen was left open to harm and he'd done what he had to. If that meant breaking the dealers arm when he clamped his jaws, so be it. The knife wound to his chassis didn't matter.
"Christ.." Allen managed inbetween heavy breaths, legs threatening to give out under him. He had been seconds away from a serious injury until Anubis practicality tackled the perp on the ground; what the captain hadn't expected to witness was how brutally the dog locked his jaws on his arm. He hadn't noticed the knife sticking out from 080s chassis at first. Everything happened so fast, leaving him no room to take in his surroundings. The captain took a deep breath and stedied himself before approaching the android.
"You can't just fucking leap into danger like that--" Allen's scolding was interrupted by a hitched breath. Just looking at the wound made him shiver. "For fuck's sake... Anubis, calm down and stay still. The suspect is injured, he won't get up." The human crouched to the dogs level and took a closer look at the knife, gloved hand gently resting on the androids neck. "Shit, this isn't looking good. We'll call a technican and you'll be alright, okay? Just-- don't ever do that again."

Allen nearly jumped out of his skin when ANUBIS came barrelling in from the hallway. He tried to turn away from the dog almost instantly, not wanting him to see himself like this. His sister was in the kitchen making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, unaware of the inner turmoil going on within her big brother’s head. Allen began to shuffle away from 080, but a wet nose on his arm startled him.
He turned his swimming, green eyes towards ANUBIS, bottom lip trembling. How was he supposed to say no to such a welcoming sight of a dog. Joseph reached out and placed a small hand onto the android’s head and petted him a couple times, tears finally slipping out of his eyes. After a moment, he finally stepped back towards 080 and wrapped both of his little arms around him from the front. He curled his fingers into ANUBIS’ fur coat and practically sobbed into his neck. “T-they were…making fun of me. They pushed me on the playground and said I was worthless,” he said in between his fits of crying. He would never tell his parents this, mostly because he would hate for them to get into another fight about him. He couldn’t deal with anymore nightmares, no. His arms tightened around the android canine.

Furious barking filled the space, the tone building, bordering on static. Snarls that sounded glitched and closer to white noise. ANUBIS maintained his stance over his partner’s prone body. Hackles raised and eyes glowing an eerie but dangerous crimson. LED flickering between yellow and red. Steam billowed from his maw, internal components working to prevent overheating. [PERMISSION TO NEUTRALIZE THREAT? Y/N]
Joseph hadn’t expected to be fucked over this badly when he chased after the suspect. He thought it would be simple, just tackle him to the ground and cuff him. But the guy pulled out a knife and ended up stabbing him multiple times. Which was where Allen was currently, unable to move as blood leaked from his wounds. The perp stood over him with a crazed look in his eyes, LED spinning red, blaring against the brick walls surrounding them.
He thought he would just die here, all alone. No one to save his ass this time. But luckily, he was wrong as ANUBIS threw himself in between him and his assailant. Joseph was barely clinging onto his last shreds of consciousness, clutching at his stomach with his arm. “J-jus’ don’t… don’t kill him… need ‘em alive,” he rasped out weakly, groaning in pain.

There were rumours arising. A smokey black canine in the dead of night. They were saying it was a Church Grim haunting the area. And this time it decided to appear before Anatole. Mouth creaking open to display wicked fangs and crimson light as black smoke leaked from it's body. (Rk080electric)
@rk080electric
Anatole had heard the rumours; both his fellow priests and visitors brought up frequently. But Anatole never took them seriously. People had the tendency to let fear control them and in most cases make them overreact to mere tales.
That was until the man found himself face-to-face with the beast in question. Anatole was never good with dogs. He was used to taking care of Lucifer, his cat, and had no clue on how to approach the canine in a non-threatening way. Especially a creature that had smoke leaking from its body. How was that even possible?
Running was out of the question. One thing he did know about dogs was that they were experts in smelling and tracking down fear. Anatoles options were very limitated; he decided to try and talk to the creature. "Everything is alright. You are alright. There are no dangers surrounding you."
...H̶͚̯͗ ̵̤̲͠E̸͊̕͜ͅ ̵̺̭̐L̵̬̄͘ ̸̣͋P̷͈͔̅̔.̴̯̓.̸̺̊.̸͍̫̌ ̸̙̟͑̄M̸̩̋̑ ̵̧͔̈́Ȅ̴͖̽.....

He was there as a protector of the grounds. To ward off wandering spirits and the Devil himself. Protect against those who would profane the grounds of the church or commit sacrilege.
However, he is not just a church grim. He is also a guardian of other temples. Anubis is only returning to the place where his body had perished. And he has returned injured. Knowing that a Year Walker would be coming soon to Anubis domain. One he'd have to contend with to prevent their completion and success of the Year Walk.
Anubis whined. Recognizing Anatole as one of the church members. Smoke spits and billows from his torn flank. Limping forward and head hanging.
An intense shudder rocked the priest's body in response to the creature's voice. Every bone in his body was screaming at him to run away yet his mind wasn't on the same page. Anatole held onto the silver cross dangling off his neck tightly enough to make his knuckles white as he took a deep, shaky breath. As frightening as the canine was, it carried a certain holy energy that was hard for the Christian for ignore.
Anatole made a silent prayer before taking a step towards the beast.
He tried to ignore the smoke leaking from the dog's wounds. Poor thing was just barely limping towards him. "I am here, my son." Anatole was now kneeling, legs still shaking. His hands pressed against one another, cross between them. "How can I help you?"

T͟h͡ey hu͟r̕t m̀ȩ.
The dog nearly collapsed into his arms. Smoke spitting from the wound that was barely starting to close on it's own. A bullet fell out, along with the burnt off end of a bolt arrow.

In the distance was the sound of baying hounds. Along with what sounded of pounding hooves along the forest trail. The humans had figured out he could indeed be hurt. Unless the grim returned to the original grounds of his burial, the church he had come from. Once upon the holy soil, the wounds would heal, and the canine gained the strength that rivaled hellhounds.
Pͭ̈́̊ͭ͂͟l̇͆͋̏͏ȩ̈͛ä̷́̔͆ͫͣse̿͑ͮ̒̄͏ ̓͂̉̔̽g̈́ͭ̃ͪ̔͋̓ỉvͥ͂ͮ̒e̷̅ ͐m̆̓̄e͋ͫͤ̌̓ͨ͡ ͮ̋̋̈́͢sͮ͛ͧ̚a͆̌͞ń͂̈́̽̔̀́cͪ͐͑̌̂̿t̓͂̂ͨ͑͟uͩ̿̍͗̾̃͠a̋̈́̀͡r̡̃y͠
Anubis needed to be inside the church. In effect stalling the hunting party and giving him time to recover. He'd made the long journey back and was exhausted...too exhausted to guard the grounds. The more time the grim spent on holy ground, the less hellish his voice sounded. Perhaps then the priest wouldn't fear him.
The more the beast spoke the more the priest's limbs shook, stomach feeling as if it was caving into itself; he couldn't help it. He knew fleeing the scene was the most logical thing to do in order to preserve himself, and yet his sense of compassion overrode the instict. The creature didn't seem to want to hurt him. Even if that were it's intention, it was clearly too hurt to execute it. There was something about the grim, despite it's appearance, that made Anatole want to protect it.
The elder flinched as the dog fell into his lap before hesitently wrapping his arms around it. The wounds weren't there, the bullet did not just fall out of one, he told himself. Despite the heavy lump in his throat, he spoke, "I will help you, my child, as best as I can. You need not be afraid. Holy grounds are but a few steps away."
Lifting Anubis up was a whole other challenge. Anatole was fairly weak physically, only managing to hold the grim's upper body close as he stood up on trembling legs. He had to drag the other to the church which was only a few feet away, mumbling an apology along the way. Unlocking the heavy doors with just one hand wasn't as time consuming as the priest thought, taking his fear into play.
The doors were shut the moment the two entered the church, Anatoles legs finally giving out and forcing him to collapse on the ground. His grip on the canine remained strong as he panted heavily, "You-- you are safe."

He is making bread, his sleeves rolled to his elbows (though the fringes still have flour of them), and murmuring idly (though not unhappily) to himself. There is flour on his nose, but rest assured his final product will be worth the mess.
Anubis smells the dough and he wiggles. Docked tail wagging as he approached with a low woof of curiosity. He sniffed Markus and sat head tilted with a whine of inquisitiveness.
What was his human making? He liked food. And any scraps or tidbits were always appreciated. Although he was taught not to beg, he's sorely tempted to.
@jericholeader
@rk080electric asked:
The doberman wandered between buildings. Ever since the world had gone quite literally to shit. Anubis is careful of getting close to the humans that smell of sickness, rot, and decay. They mostly went after ones who didn’t smell like that, and were attracted by noise. They usually left Anubis alone. No wonder his old trainer had taught him about using his “inside voice”. Food is scarce, even kibble is hard to find now. The dog is cautiously walking out in the open when he hears someone that doesn’t smell like the dead ones. Picking up a scent trail and docked tail beginning to wiggle. The doberman had learned just because a human is not one of the dead ones, it doesn’t mean they’ll be nice to him either. He follows the scent to what he assumes is not a dead man. Softly whining and using his “inside” voice. A barely audible bark.
Silence was an unique brand of survival Markus had to learn. The undead were drawn not only by scent, but by noise, and were thicker in numbers as the days began to cool. He traveled light and walked quickly, learning and memorizing the places were doors creaked and floorboards swayed. Out in the open it was a matter of blending with the natural hush of a world suddenly and violently devoid of most technological and industrial noise. The skies were clearer. The blues of the atmosphere deeper by day, and more open to the stars at night. A heavy price, numbered in billions of lives, had been paid for ecological relief.
The sun had just passed three and he was turning for shelter, face to the warmth, when he heard the sound. Movement, quick, low. Alive. The blur of black from the corner of his vision barked, quiet, and he froze. It was a dog. Large, black, long-legged. A Doberman, if he remembered his cursory knowledge of breeds.
Markus had met animals, wild, injured and starving, not undead but traumatized and untrusting. He didn’t blame them. He’d avoided them, left them be, wishing he could offer them food, or do something more. The walking dead hunted them as well as humans.
This dog, however, did not growl, or bare its teeth, as others had. It only stood, far beyond arms reach, whining and tentatively wagging its tail.
Maybe…
Markus slowly moved down to a crouch, slipping his bag free from his shoulder. He undid the zipper and reached for granola bar. It was all he had with him. All he had foraged that would be safe for a dog-….
“Hey there, buddy.” He said, nearly in a whisper. “Hungry?” He pulled away the wrapper and offered it out, hoping, if the dog was still able to trust humans, they might smell it. After a moment there, with the food outstretched, Markus stood and took a few steps forward, to set the oat-and-honey wafer between them. He then moved back again, to give the dog space.
He watches closely. The man doesn’t seem hostile. And he’s...offering food? Food! The dog’s stomach rumbles and he can’t help licking his chops. Eyeing the stranger and the food. He doesn’t smell aggressive, and certainly isn’t throwing anything at him.
The fact he sets the food between them. And gives Anubis space. That’s all it takes for the dog to cautiously move forward and nibble the food. Licking and sniffing before it’s swallowed in one bite. Deeming him friendly enough. The Doberman approaches. Moving within range for petting. Just in case the man turns on him and he needs to skitter out of reach.
Sniffing and watching. Ears flicking. Anubis is vigilant of their surroundings as well. Humans liked to surround prey, or if they were feeling especially cruel, will lure in strays like himself to harm.
Tail now wagging, his butt wiggles too. Excited whines and whimpers escaping his maw. One would assume he might’ve been debarked. But the reason is quite the opposite. He’s been well trained. And his “inside voice” is currently what has kept him alive. Besides seeing other strays like himself be chased and harmed because the noise attracted unsavory predators or the dead humans.
This one is nice and doesn’t smell sick. He gave him food. And to be honest, Anubis is lonely. A tongue flicks out to lick the human’s hand. Nosing his arm and pawing at him.
Miraculously, his collar is still intact. But there’s blood stained into the expensive brown leather. A metal plate displays his name. Whatever happened to the owner, will remain unknown, but they ensured their companion’s safety and freedom.
Anubis sat obediently at his side. He didn’t beg for more. Knowing food is scarce already. But hopefully, a company of two is better than one. He can sniff out safe things to eat. And maybe this man might appreciate company and protection. Humans tended to avoid large guarding breeds.
