minho's practically vibrating with excitement.

with promotions out of the way, he's had opportunities to make time for things-- like visiting his family, seeing his baby, and having quality time with some of his members after the busy period of last month. today, he's happy to spend it with hongjoong, doing something that he knows will be great for the both of them-- going to a cat cafe.

the idea of it makes him miss his own cat even more, but he knows it won't be as bad once he's got his eyes on the little feline friends within the cafe. hongjoong's great company for it too, something they were going to do prior to promotions, but ended up with minho feeling too tired and exhausted from preparation to stick to the plan.

minho's eyes trail over the front of the building as they arrive, and his teeth pull and tug at her lip. he inhales, his pace quickening to match the other. he sees a little furry friend poking their head around the window curiously, causing minho to smile widely at the kitten. "hi~" he murmurs, wiggling his fingers cutely in the cat, who begins to paw at the glass. chuckling, he reaches out to gently tug hongjoong's sleeve a bit, pointing down at the kitten behind the glass. "hyung, look."

case in point just as that thought crosses his mind he feels a head hit his shoulder and his eyes are drawn onto minho hyung who had been beside him at the window. he feels himself smiling, body relaxing a little as he tries to not move to much so he won’t dislodge the older off his shoulder. “hmmm.. not yet, i already asking manager hyung like five times and he still said not yet.” there’s an obvious pout to the teens voice as he speaks even as he tries to speak in more of a whisper. “i think he’s driving reallllly slow…” the last part is said even quieter, and in a way as if here was trying to understand a conspiracy. 

the area of his head where it bumped against the window throbs a bit, but minho ignores it for snuggling and cuddling up to the youngest next to him. seonho is comfortable, both for minho to sleep on but also just-- in general. he doesn't feel awkward at all cuddling next to him, far too used to the skinship and affection from the younger as it is. he's one of minho's favorite cuddlebugs.

he lets out a low sigh at the information. "s'fine. more time 'ta sleep." his voice is slurred a bit, and he smacks his lips tiredly, followed by a hum. they can take the long way if that's what it takes for minho to get a few extra minutes for shut-eye. he'll sleep at the broadcast station too, he's sure.

the drive does feel a little longer than usual. when minho opens his eyes to squint out the window, he huffs and drops his head back down on seonho's shoulder. he vaguely recognizes the area, which means the estimated time of arrival is about fifteen minutes more than he expected. "s'feels so long." he grumbles. "an' bumpy. d'ya think it's on purpose? a lesson not 'ta sleep against the window." his free hand reaches up to rub at the spot he hit, grumbling.

they've just gotten back from the broadcast station, and they're in the process of relaxing and resting before getting to sleep and ready for the next day. minho's fiddling in the fridge, trying to busy himself before his turn to shower-- frowning when he notes the slowly declining state of their fridge. he pats his stomach idly, and glances around. he knows their manager has already left to go get his own rest, and he doesn't want to bother anyone who's already gearing up for bed, but minho wants to head out to the convenience store down the road.

but not by himself, especially this late. closing the door, he shuffles into the hallway and peeks into any of the open bedrooms. when he comes up to won's shared room, he catches the other still milling about. he pauses by the open door, teeth worrying his lip as he hesitates, before clearing his throat. "hey, won-ah? uh," he shifts, smiling awkwardly at the other. "d'ya wanna come with me to the store real quick? i wanna grab some milk." he wanted to eat a quick bowl of cereal before bed, a treat to soothe the sudden sweet tooth that's kicked in since lunch earlier. "if you're not...headin' right 'ta bed, that is."

the downtime at the broadcast station is both a blessing and a curse. minho's able to catch up on sleep in the morning, but in the afternoon when they're unable to actually sleep-- and it's just busying themselves after greeting the senior artists, minho grows bored. it's probably the downside to promotions, or at least one of them-- but minho tries at least. he's busying himself on superstar royal, trying to clear some of the songs he hasn't gotten to. he's focused on it to the point he doesn't respond at all to one of the members sitting near him-- brows pinched and furrowed in concentration. when he clears the song, he lets out a relieved sigh, dropping his phone on his lap and cracking his knuckles.

"jaehyun-ah," he calls out, turning to face the other man. there's the slightest bit of a pout on his face, but his voice is a low grumble. "i'm so bored." he rubs at the side of his neck, twisting his head back and forth to work out some of the stress. "i still don't get why we can sleep durin' this time." he knows there's a reason, he just thinks that sleep should be a little bit more of an important reason. "more sleep sounds good."

seeing them up for a win is frightening-- he hadn't expecting much after such big names were also promoting around the same time as them. he's learned to not expect too much, but it's still surreal to see. he almost feels as if he's hallucinating it, like the lack of sleep has got to him enough he's seeing things. but it's still there, bold as ever. he holds his breath until the winner is announced, and when it's berry good instead of de:code, only then does he exhale.

the loss is humbling; not that they really lost anything-- they're a newly debuted group, they have plenty of time to try and try again. maybe timing wasn't right, or maybe it wasn't the right type of song for the time being. it's also grounding, because now it feels a bit more real. he's always expected to face more losses than wins when it comes to the idol life, so it helps solidify it a little bit more.

"you were up for first place," his mom tells him over the phone the next day, while he's fiddling with the vending machine at the broadcast station. "don't think I didn't see-- you coulda won!"

"we could 'ave." he mumbles, reaching down to grab his drink from the output station. "but s'fine. maybe next time."

"definitely next time." his mom argues on the phone, and he can't help but chuckle, lifting the hand holding his drink to his face to cover his mouth. stepping away from vending machine, he slowly begins to head back to the dressing room. his pace is slow, leisurely, humming as his mother continues on the phone. "i'll ask sojung's kids next door to help me out with it. we'll-- what do the kids call it, stream? yeah, we'll do a big mass--" his mother rambles on and on, and the dialect of her daegu satoori has him snorting, before slowly moving into soft laughter. he bows his head, hiding his smile behind his hand as he shuffles past staff with a murmured greeting.

and when he ends the call before he heads back into their dressing room, ready to finish up the day of promotions-- he feels a bit better about it all. it's only just the beginning.

the baseball game schedule had been exciting, something new to add to their repertoire of appearances in the first year of their debut. while minho doesn't really enjoy sports, he did enjoy himself during their time there. the performances were fine, if not a bit awkward, and hongjoong's pitch was pretty cool. it looked a little daunting from where they were watching, a bit too much for minho ever to try-- but hongjoong looked like he was enjoying himself. minho's just left the shower, and he's rubbing the towel on the ends of his hair, watching the blue tone to it slowly begin to fade out with each wash. stepping out of the hallway and into the open room, he glances over and sees one of the other boys. he pauses, recognition settling. "oh, hyung," he calls out, and before he can give any context to his question he blurts out. "was it scary?" the question is abrupt, and minho's quick to blush immediately after. clearing his throat, he looks away and rubs the towel into the side of his neck sheepishly. "i. uh, mean-- the pitch, at the game. was it...ah...it just looked like a lot..." he mumbles, thoroughly embarrassed at himself.

entering the dorm on silent feet, he glanced around the door, when he still saw light in the living room. he blinks at the younger male who was wrapped into his blanket like a burrito. minho was sitting in front of his laptop and just noticed him, when he came closer. “i’m home.” he replies in return, a tired smile on his lips. “and here i am thinking for a moment, you were waiting for me to come back home. but you are just too indulged in your drama.” the older male cackles, after getting a glimpse on the screen. “next time, when you watch something that late at night, you should give some pornos a try.” he teases, as he lets himself flop down next to him after ridding himself of the jacket. “ah, yeah. it’s much more work than i ever expected, but it’s fun. want to take a look at my script?”

"m'thought 'bout it." minho says, an amused smile tugging at the corner of his thought. "can't i do both? i'm good at multitaskin'..." not really, that's a little bit of a lie, but he's good enough to be considered mediocre at it. "it was just an important part..." he trails off, a pout clearly heard through his voice as his eyes flicker back down to the screen. 

 they snap back at kangjoon, eyebrows raising high at the statement. his ears burn as he stares at him for a long moment-- mouth parting and closing, little grunts of started speech leaving him before he just ends up staring at the other incredulously. minho snorts after a moment. "right in the living room, hyung?" he questions, eyes shooting back down to his laptop. he fiddles with the corner of it, tapping a finger on it. "d'ya take me for some sort of voyeur..." he trails off in a mumble.

at the mention of the script, minho tilts his head. he's never really had acting opportunities-- he's kinda shit at it, really. but he can't say he isn't curious, so after a moment of thought, he nods his head. "sure, if that's...uh. allowed?" his brows furrow. would that be considered some sort of spoiler? minho isn’t sure, but he shifts and turns to give his full attention to the older.

promoting this time around feels even more draining. it was draining before, when they debuted-- but maybe he was riding the high of a debut, and hadn't really noticed. this time around, minho's exhausted, and he catches up on sleep as much as he can. he sleeps whenever he can between music show rehearsals and schedules, he rushes eating his food and goes to nap it off in the brief moments they have. maybe it'll feel easier to manage later in the month when he's back in the groove of things-- but for now, he's going to take every opportune moment to fill it up with priceless sleep.

the moment they had jumped into the van on the way to one of their radio shows, minho's head is against the window and he's snoozing. he manages to rest his eyes for a little, but a stray bump on the road has his head bumping and slamming against the window briefly. with a grunt, he tugs his head away, an annoyed sound leaving him. he shifts away, mumbling to himself. his head flops onto the shoulder of the person sitting next to him, and he snuggles up immediately. he lets out a content noise, rubbing his cheek against the fabric on their shoulder. "are we there yet?" he mumbles, muffled slightly by his position.

minho's never been too big on sports-- it's fun playing with friends from time to time, but it's kinda boring to watch them, or at least he thinks so. he's not really gonna complain much about it, though-- as they're performing on top of hongjoong's first pitch. it's a pretty cool experience as an idol, and minho does try to follow along with what's going on in the game. his brows are pinched, furrowed, eyes following each player on the field when they move. the announcer over head is saying things, narrating and raising his voice in the same time the crowd responds to something on field.

but minho's lost. utterly lost. swallowing, he frowns. he twists in his spot, and the first person he spots is mingyu. reaching out, he lightly taps mingyu's leg to gather his attention. "mingyu-yah," he says, a little bit louder to be heard over the thrum of the crowd. "why is everyone so loud?" he questions, genuinely. he returns his attention back to the field, watching as whoever was running returns back to base. it only confuses minho more. "did he...make a foul or somethin'?" that might explain whatever the announcer was going on about-- minho doesn't remember at all what was being said.

minho's sitting on the floor of their dorm's living room, watching an episode of a drama on his laptop mindlessly, chin sitting on top of the coffee table his computer's perched on in a position that doesn't look the most comfortable. his eyes are blank, taking in the scene on the screen; he's bundled up in a blanket like usual, all of his attention trying to take in the story that's unfolding. he's entirely too focused, because he does miss the sound of their front door unlocking and opening. he doesn't notice at all until he sees movement out of his peripherals, finally taking his attention off the screen.

minho blinks, squinting in the darkness before his bleary, screen tired eyes make out kangjoon's figure. his hand moves to pause the drama on the screen, pushing his laptop screen down a bit to give the older the bulk of his attention. "welcome back, hyung." he greets quietly, straightening his form as he watches kangjoon quietly. now that his attention isn't on the screen, minho realizes how tired he is, and how late into the night it's gotten. they're in full swing of promotions, but minho knows kangjoon's probably more tired than the rest of them, stuck with filming when they aren't promoting can you feel it.

minho chews on his lower lip thoughtfully, tapping his finger on the table as he hums. "how was filmin'?" he asks, a small smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. "these hours seem tirin'."
