The little guy takes a second to get going- managing to get up to Qrow’s waist- though there’s the brush of feathers past his hand first- and then carefully, Bart wiggles his way into the offered pocket. From the dark, a soft ‘peep’. He’s grateful, clearly. Just don’t be surprised if your pocket starts snoring.

“Point taken. But then again, I’m not exactly in a place to judge people on their attachment to the dead, now am I”, Oob says, smiling a bit. “...The ceremonies around the dead are always liable to be a bit... odd. Sometimes it’s best to not question things too much. After all, it’s all one can do, to bring a little comfort to the living”.

“Why would you want that? I’ve seen corpses, they not great to look at.” While Qrow certainly appreciated the aesthetic of a cemetery, he did not understand them. Having a marker, like they did for Summer, made sense, but… 

“You know what kills biological hazards? Burning it and be done.”

“Well to be fair, it can depend on the state of the corpse”, he admits. “But there’s something comforting in being able to say goodbye. It’s a ceremonial thing, for most people. And you saw those corpses without embalming- if it’s done early it can help the appearance a great deal”.

Bart pushes up his glasses. “Actually, there’s still scientific debate whether a fire kills all the potential biological hazards a body could harbor. And there’s the things you can catch before the fire, of course. But there are far fewer risks these days then in the past”.
