me and my mum speak french to each other quite a lot, and when i go to bed we always say “dors bien, je t’aime, beaux rêves” which means “sleep well, i love you, sweet dreams”. also, sometimes she calls me “ma chère” which is the feminine version of “my dear” or “ma petite” which is the same for “little one”. BUT. since ive been home from uni i’ve noticed that she’s changed a bit in the things she calls me to “mon cher” and “mon petit”. in doing this she’s recognising that i respond to male pronouns and she’s starting to properly respect my identity as a guy, and im beyond grateful to her because of that

@ everyone in the notes talking about physical performance: if that were the case, then sports would be divided by physical performance. that’s a thing you can measure. that’s a thing that varies by individual. a weak man and a strong man would be an unfair fight in boxing/wrestling/MMA, which is why they divide those sports up into weight groups based on physical performance. but they also further segregate them based on gender. chess is segregated by gender for no reason but sexism. if it’s actually about skill and physical ability, then measure those and separate people by those metrics. don’t do some bullshit gender segregation and pretend like men and women are inherently on different levels no matter their individual abilities.

The pay gaps, not to mention lack of sponsorships for women athletes who don’t look like models is insane. If you weigh over 250 pounds, no one will sponsor you. It’s why most female Olympic-class weightlifters live in poverty/out of their cars.

What bugs me with the pay thing is like how the US women’s soccer team kicks serious ass internationally compared to the guys’ team, and the men’s team has only won like, one championship. Women’s team was/still is paid pennies in comparison and yet they’re a far better team, more exciting to watch, and less drama.

Women’s soccer is more fun to watch because you don’t have them falling dramatically when they stub their toe on someone’s cleats. A woman goes down and you know she’s hurt. A man goes down in the game and after his dramatic wincing and what not, manages to miraculously get back to his feet and play like nothing happened.

Women are metal af in sports. Men just don’t like being shown up.
