Turey El Taíno, the Puerto Rican local comic strip that everyone and their mother knows about ;D It’s the first locally-produced comic to be a big success, spanning many strip collections, a marionette musical (!) and being honored even by the USPS with a commemorative stamp, among other things. As far as I know, it’s the only Puerto Rican strip to be have such accolades!
It tells of the namesake character, Turey and his family living in Puerto Rico/Borinquén* before the coming of Columbus. Basically slice-of-life with history lessons and action/adventure mixed in :)
*the Taíno term for Puerto Rico before the Spaniards came. It’s also the name of our national anthem, slightly.
